The automatic movement is also good for those with limited mobility like carpal tunnel, arthritis, and developmental disabilities. Plus, some of these brushes come with a timer. Electric toothbrushes only need the brush itself replaced, not the whole thing, so it means less plastic waste. However, electric toothbrushes can get very expensive and the replacement brushes can be hard to find.

In conclusion, choosing between a manual or an electric toothbrush is ultimately down to preference. For those who can go the extra mile upgrade their old manual toothbrush to an electric toothbrush, why not. But for those who would prefer to keep purchasing a manual toothbrush, it is okay as well. For as long as we keep in mind the importance of maintaining good oral health, we should be fine.
