About TOSHIBA Regza
Toshiba introduces next generation tablets in Philippines
Tablets are the next big thing in the electronics market. So, all native as well as foreign companies in Philippines are pulling all their resources in order to come up with new tablet models every day. It is very hard to stand out amongst electronic giants like Samsung or Apple. However Toshiba is one of those few companies who have produced an excellent line of tablets which can compete at the very highest stage in this market with such giants.
History
Toshiba Corporation is currently a public corporation. It was founded way back in 1875 as a rudimentary company, but became quite popular after it was revamped in 1939. Its headquarters are located in Tokyo, Japan, and it currently operates in all kinds of electronic equipments. It also specializes in PC computers, laptops, as well as computer hardware and peripheral devices.
Even though Toshiba came in a bit late in the Filipino electronic market, it has gained immense popularity in the global market with its long and successful line of products – ranging from home appliances to office equipment. It has become a huge conglomerate industry with thousands of products in the Filipino community.
Popular Products
Toshiba has partnered with both Windows as well as Android to come up with their line of tablets. In Philippines, this company currently has 2 separate lines of tablets – one with Windows OS, and the other with Android OS. The one with Windows is known as Encore, while the other is known as Excite. Let's have a look at some of their popular models:
Encore 2 – This model is quite popular in Philippines. It operates on Windows 8.1 OS, with a 1.83 GHz Intel Atom processor and 1 GB RAM. Its internal storage is 32 GB, with an 8 inch IPS display unit of resolution 1280x800 and 16:10 aspect ratio.
Excite 10 – This is an Android tablet from Toshiba, with a 1.5 GHz quad core processor and 1 GB RAM. It also has a 10.1 inch LCD capacitive touch screen with 1280x800 display resolution and 16 GB internal memory. It runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, but can be upgraded to higher versions.
Marketing Strategy
Toshiba has a very interesting marketing strategy which sets it apart from its competitors. Toshiba's products are priced according to the market sensibilities – this means that favorable items are priced moderately in order to increase exposure. This particular characteristic has been very important in improving Toshiba's credibility in the Philippines electronics community.
