About Xiaomi Tablets

Xiaomi Tablets give you a breath of fresh air in the highly polluted market

Xiaomi is a Chinese company dealing with manufacture and production of various electronics and electronic equipment like smartphones, tablets, consumer electronics, etc. Currently employing over 8,000 people mostly in mainland China, this company has started expanding in countries like Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Brazil and Philippines. Xiaomi Tablets are now rising in popularity thanks to the road paved by its smartphone counterpart, which quickly went to being revered as the new giant in the market. Now that demand for portable devices are at an all time high, people are increasingly replacing laptops with easier to carry and cheaper alternatives, tablets being one such device.

History of the maker

Xiaomi's humble roots can be traced back to April 6, 2010 when it began producing their first smartphone using MIUI technology. Slowly they increased their product base and now they're here as one of the best companies.

Features of Xiaomi Tablets

Since the company has been mostly occupied with the production of smartphones, the tablet segment in Philippines only contains one device at the moment. Named as Xiaomi MiPad, its specifications are mentioned below:

  • This model measures 135.4 x 202.1 x 8.5 mm in dimensions and measures just 360 grams. It is only available in white colour.
  • There is a 7.9 inch screen displaying resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels (324 ppi).
  • It is powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage expandable up to 128 GB using microSD.
  • There is a 8 MP primary camera and 5 MP secondary camera that serves as an ideal video chatting unit.
  • Right out of the box, Xiaomi MiPad comes loaded with Android 4.4 OS. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ b/ g/ b/ ac and Bluetooth v4.0.
  • It comes with a capable 6700 mAh battery for extra long life.

Reasons for popularity in the Philippines

Price: Xiaomi Tablets are significantly lower priced than its contemporaries like Samsung, HTC, Sony, etc., due to the fact that it is based upon Chinese technology that is hailed to be the most cost-effective. This is the primary reason why people are showing increased interest in Xiaomi products.

Performance: A cheaper price doesn't result in lesser performance. Xiaomi is the prime example of how modern technology can be tweaked to provide the best performance, all the while not sacrificing on effective pricing. Xiaomi Tablets are one of the better performing devices in the Philippines.
