About KTM Motorcycle

KTM is all set to come up with improved models in Philippines

KTM is basically an Austrian motorcycle manufacturer, whose full company name is KTM Sport Motorcycle AG. It was founded way back by Hans Trunkenpolz, and has its current head quarters located in Mattighofen, in Austria. Even though KTM motorcycle separated from their parent company way back in 1992, it still carries on the company’s brand. Even today, KTM Motorcycles hold the flagship position of all businesses of its parent company. KTM’s top priority has always been its off road motorcycles. However, in recent years, they have expanded in to producing street motorcycles as well as sports bikes and cars.

Brief History

KTM was first founded in 1934, but during later years, it spun off from that native company due to financial issues. It started operating in 1992 under the name of KTM Sport Motorcycle GmbH. After taking over another sibling company, KTM Werkzeugbau it was renamed as KTM Sport Motorcycle AG in 2004. KTM is most famous in Philippines for introducing its Duke series of road motorcycles in the Filipino market. Now, the Filipino motorcycle community looks forward to several of KTM’s bikes for a superb off road experience, as well a cruiser extravaganza for their Duke Motorcycle models. Now, let’s take a look at the most popular KTM motorcycles that can be found in Philippines.

Popular and New Models

KTM MX 125 SX –

The latest 2016 edition of this motorcycle offers high performance specs. It features a light 2 stroke engine with power valve and 6 speed gear box. Its chassis design is pretty good, along with a low capacity engine and improved durability.

KTM 690 ENDURO R 2015 –

If you are talking about amazing ergonomics, then this is an appropriate bike. It has amazing off road capabilities with 1 cylinder 4 stroke engine and 49 kW power output. It also has a 6 speed transmission module with WP mono-shock rear suspension.

KTM FREERIDE 350 2015 –

Another dual mode motorcycle from KTM, this bike can sustain equally well on on-road and off-road situations. It has a 1 cylinder 4 stroke engine with 6 speed gear box, and a multi-disc hydraulics clutch. Both of its brakes are disc ones, with WP PDS shock absorbers.

KTM 690 DUKE R 2015 –

It is perhaps the most celebrated motorcycle of KTM in Philippines. It has a curvaceous body, with 1 cylinder 4 stroke engine, and a very light chassis design. Max power output is around 51.5 kW, with 6 speed transmission and WP mono-shock suspension, and front and rear disc brakes.

This is a class apart vehicle from KTM. It features a 2 cylinder 4 stroke V 75 engine design, with 118 kW max power output. It has a 6 speed transmission spec, with liquid cooling technology and chrome chassis design. It also has twin piston disc brakes on both ends.

KTM 1190 RC8 R 2015 –

Superbikes are somewhat KTM’s specialty. This motorcycle offers a 2 cylinder 4 stroke engine with electric starter and 6 speed gear box. It also features liquid cooling technology, along with WP mono-shock rear suspension and Brembo twin piston disc brakes.

Reason for Popularity

KTA has turned out to be a very popular brand of motorcycles in Philippines. Why is that? This is primarily due to the fact that their Duke series has kick-started all Filipino motorcycle communities in a major way. In fact, Filipino bikers love KTA’s Duke Series of bikes more than most of the local bikes. This has certainly promoted their brand and boosted their popularity in terms of sales and performance.

Marketing Strategy

KTA’s marketing strategy in Philippines is extremely simple to understand. They make sure that the release of their motorcycles does not coincide with similar products from other brands. In this way, they can effectively deliver their product to the consumer without any direct competition from other brands, be it local or international.
