About Suzuki Motorcycle
Suzuki is one of the leading multinational companies in the world. Originating from Japan, this company has spread worldwide. Suzuki is a manufacturing company of motorcycles, automobiles, ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles), four-wheel driving vehicles, wheelchairs, outboard marine engines, etc. The company also produces some small machines in which the combustion occurs internally. With over forty-five thousand employees and thirty-five production areas in 23 countries and a hundred and thirty-three distributors in a hundred and ninety-two countries, Suzuki has become one of the largest companies worldwide.
Suzuki started over a century ago in 1909. Michio Suzuki, when he was only 23, founded the company in a small sea-coast village in Hamamatsu of Japan. The then Suzuki boomed its business through its weaving looms for the colossal silk industry of Japan. Suzuki went overseas in 1929 when the founder himself managed to invent a new weaving machine type. In the next years, all Suzuki concentrated on was the production and development of those machines.
Although the looms were bringing success to Suzuki, Michio Suzuki felt that the company could give more. He believed that business success would be possible with a diversity of products. As per his thoughts and beliefs, he understood that a small car could be the worthy change-maker that everyone was looking for. This belief had a basis on the fact that there were consumer demands for vehicles as the car industry was a new growing industry.
The project of building a car started in 1937. After almost two years, compact prototypes of several cars were complete. Suzuki's primary motor vehicles had their running power through four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, then-creative, thoughtful, four-stroke engines. That engine generated 9.7 kW equal to almost thirteen horsepower with somewhat less than eight hundred ccs. The gearbox and crankcase had a cast aluminum that allowed it to produce the required power.
However, Suzuki's diversification plan halted with World War II onset. The then government declared cars for civil passengers as one of the non-essential commodities. With the conclusion of World War II, the situation changed, and Suzuki started producing looms again. At that time, the US government allowed cotton shipping to Japan. As a result, loom production had a boost.
Moreover, domestic textile manufacturing companies also increased their orders. That caused Suzuki's fortune to brighten. Unfortunately, the good days were not so long. After a few years, in 1951, the cotton market in Japan collapsed, resulting in the conclusion of a short-period joy.
Big businesses never end with such a minor problem. The same happened with Suzuki. As they had previous success in the motor vehicle industry, the company returned to that. When the World War ended, the government declaration of the non-essential commodity for civil cars was withdrawn. As a result, in after-war Japan, people needed reliable and affordable personal transportation. Suzuki came forward to participate. At that time, a few companies started 'clip-on' engines powered by gas. Those engines could be used by attaching a typical bicycle.
In 1952, Suzuki brought the Power Free to the market, the first two-wheeler vehicle from Suzuki. Suzuki intended to build a simple and inexpensive vehicle. As a result, the Power Free vehicle had two stroked engine with one horsepower and 36 ccs. Suzuki introduced a dual gear system. It allowed the rider to run on either engine or pedals, and/or with one of them with assistance of the other. This innovation persuaded the Japanese patent office to grant Suzuki a subsidy so that the company can continue its research in the motorcycles and others.
This subsidy helped Suzuki a lot to grow bigger in the next years. The world saw the effects very shortly. Only after a couple of years, in 1954, Suzuki motorcycles' monthly production reached six thousand units. In the same year, the company officially changed its name and became Suzuki Motor Company Limited. After the booming business with the Power Free, the first motorcycle from Suzuki, the company became even a lot more successful with Suzuki Suzulight, the first automobile. The car was introduced in 1955 with features like four-wheeled independent suspension, rack & pinion steering, and many more. The exciting part is that some car features were available only in regular cars after three decades.
The world-famous company Volkswagen had a non-controlling 19.9% share in Suzuki from 2009 to 2015. However, the stake was given back to Suzuki by an order from an international court. Suzuki bought those stock back with a payment of almost four billion dollars in September of 2015. After many ups and downs in its lifetime, the company has now reached the billboard of success. The brand name is one of Japan's major ones, the country of origin, and India. However, the company no longer sells its cars in North America, its targeted marketplace in the 1930s.
Suzuki performs under the name of Suzuki Philippines Incorporation in the Philippines. The company is a manufacturer of quality motorcycles and an exclusive distributor of Suzuki Automobiles, SPG (Suzuki Genuine Parts), and Suzuki Outboard Motor in the Philippines. The company's primary division is on a motorcycle; the company has lineups for business, sports, and leisure besides the compact vehicles. The workforce that provides these services is highly competent with great care for automobiles, motorcycles, and other products.
The origin of Suzuki Philippines is somewhat different. The starting was by a Filipino family in 1957. The primary business was named Rufino D. Antonio & Associates, Inc. It was an architectural and engineering firm. The company at first ventured into importations of appliances from Japan. Then, they expanded their business and included motorcycles in their business activities, which later became their significant activity. The company started to organize a nationwide dealership for motorcycles and appliances. Suzuki came to the Philippines in that year through that national dealership.
In 1975, Suzuki Motor Co. Limited and Rufino D. Antonio and Associates Inc. made a joint venture, named Antonio Suzuki Corporation. This joint venture became a great help in the expansion of motorcycle sales in the Philippines. After the assassination of Senator Aquino, the then Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd took their operations over from the joint venture in 1984. Instead, Suzuki Motor Co., Limited, introduced a wholly-owned company in the Philippines, named Suzuki Philippines, Inc. Hence, the introduction of Suzuki products in the Philippines was in 1959 actual company owned by Suzuki was introduced in 1985. The then Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd was named Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1990. Since that time, Suzuki Philippines has been at the front of motorcycle production in the country.
Suzuki Philippines was the first company that exported motorcycles outside of the country. In 1990, the company earned this honor with the exportation of motorcycles to Guatemala. The next milestone was in October of 1999. Suzuki Philippines took Suzuki's automobile operations over from Philipinas Transport Industries, Inc. This takeover strengthened the company's image in the four-wheelers division many times. The latest big news was in 2016 when Suzuki Philippines started distribution of Suzuki Outboard Motor in the Philippines. The company is now the only integrated motor company that distributes motorcycles, automobiles, and outboard motors.

Well, we have mentioned some of the recent models that are ruling the world. Let us get back some decades back to the 1980s. The Suzuki Katana from the '80s was a uniquely designed model that is still envious. That model helped Suzuki to have a firm position in the motorcycle industry. Now comes a dirt bike that is applicable for both on-road and off-road riding. The Suzuki DR-Z400SM is a street-legal bike that earned its position in the top models of Suzuki. Another Suzuki motorcycle that is loved by all Suzuki fans is the Suzuki Boulevard C90. The long machine with a single-engine is quite adorable.

Suzuki's performance has been rising with time. During their first thirty years, the company was successful in Japan, the country of origin. However, World War II hampered the business considerably. After the war, the company got back on its throne and managed to win the market with its regular innovations. As a continuation of its success in the market, the company became the eleventh largest automobile producer in 2016.
The prosperity even rose since then. At present, the company is one of the most popular and successful manufacturing companies in its country of origin. To be more specific, Suzuki is the third biggest manufacturing company in Japan. Nevertheless, Suzuki did not confine its success to Japan only; its success has been worldwide. It is now one of the top ten manufacturing companies in the world. The revenue of the company is also quite desirable. In 2020, in the current year, the annual revenue of Suzuki Motor Inc. was over 31 billion US dollars.
Suzuki has one of the world's fastest motorcycles. The Suzuki Hayabusa is said to be one of the fastest ones. In 2016, Suzuki managed to obtain the eleventh place worldwide of the biggest automaker companies with its worldwide success. For its volume of worldwide sales of automobiles, it is the tenth-largest in the whole world. In Japan, where legendary big companies take birth, Suzuki is the third-largest domestic sales volume.
Since its presence in the market from 1909, the company has faced so many ups and downs and is now one of the top 10 manufacturing companies worldwide. From a coastal village in Hamamatsu of Japan, the company traveled this far and is willing to travel a lot more. It is the only company that has conquered both the land and the ocean with its products. To be more specific, Suzuki won boat races as well as motorcycle races, which is a very unique achievement. The company's target now is to conquer the moon. As a step to that, Suzuki has partnered with a Japanese firm named Hukato to build something to get to the solar system.
