Samsung has already been working on a foldable smartphone and the public just might see that with the Samsung Galaxy F, which is expected to arrive in the first half of 2019. The Samsung Galaxy F will showcase the tech giant's capacity when it comes to smartphone design. Aside from the Infinity Flex Display, it will also sport the company's new OS skin, the OneUI, for a better Android 9 Pie user experience.

HUAWEI P30

HUAWEI P20 Pro

Moreover, it is expected that the HUAWEI P30 smartphone will be equipped with four rear cameras for an optimum photo-taking experience. The release will most likely be announced in early April of next year, right after the Mobile World Congress.

OnePlus 7

Expected launch date: May, 2019

OnePlus' CEO Pete Lau has already confirmed that the OnePlus 7 smartphone will run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 processor, making it a pretty strong phone. Rumor has it that it will look relatively similar to the OPPO R19 device. If this is true, it is expected that it will have a selfie camera within the display screen alongside an in-display fingerprint scanner. No concrete launch date has been confirmed just yet, but it will most likely hit a release date of May 2019.

Apple iPhone (2019)

iPhone XS

Expected launch date: September, 2019

The iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR were announced just around early September this year. If the tech world will follow the same pattern, the company will most likely announce the 2019 iPhones around September of next year, as well. There are rumors circulating that next year's iPhones will have a triple rear-facing camera equipped with an advanced 3D sensing capacity and will utilize stereoscopic vision, but this was halted after it was later reported that Apple will most likely stick with a dual-camera setup in the meantime. There are also sources citing that the Apple Pencil might support the 2019 iPhone lineup as well.

OPPO R19

The newest images of the OPPO R19 were recently revealed which highlighted a dual in-display camera to provide a better selfie experience along with a higher screen-to-body ratio which is expected to be around 95 percent. It will likewise feature an AMOLED screen alongside an in-screen fingerprint reader. The OPPO R19 could also be the company's first 5G phone based on the 5G logo located on the rear of the smartphone. Several outlets say that the R19 is expected to arrive around March 2019. But given that the R17 has just been released, it's more likely that the R19 will launch around the same month the R17 was released, next year.

Google Pixel 4

Expected launch date: October, 2019

There's no exact date as to when the Google Pixel 4 will be unveiled yet, but based on Google's release pattern, the newest flagship will most likely be announced around October 2019. Given the unchanged design we saw with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, the upcoming generation is expected to feature a newer design language hinting at a bezel-less design with a dual-camera setup at the back, as well as a better OS given the bugs and troubles seen days after the device was released.

LG G8

LG G7 ThinQ

Expected launch date: May, 2019

The LG G8 is also expected to be one of the first smartphones to fully support the 5G cellular technology, as well, considering that it will be running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. Some sources claim that the smartphone will have a sound-emitting display and a 4K LCD screen. Sources believe that the LG G8 will be announced around May next year.

ASUS has not yet confirmed if their team is already working on the ZenFone 5's successor or not, but leaked information reveals something to be expected during next year's Mobile World Congress. The alleged ZenFone 6 will be relatively bigger and better than its predecessors, and will most likely be equipped with the latest next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor alongside a 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It is also expected that the newest ZenFone smartphone will support face unlock security but we're still not sure if it's an additional feature or a substitution for the fingerprint scanner. Its release date should be right after the MWC event in February next year.

Vivo NEX 2

Expected launch date: February, 2019

Live images of the Vivo NEX 2 have been rounding the web showcasing a dual-screen smartphone design similar to that of the nubia X. The device's front features an almost bezel-less display, alongside a rear display that apparently isn't bezel-less at all. Looking closely, there's a triple camera setup located within the peculiar camera bump of the smartphone. The second display will most likely be used to assist selfies. The triple-camera setup is expected to come up within a standard yet wide telephoto lens setup. It is likewise expected to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and use an AMOLED display on the front. There are also rumors that the device will have an in-display fingerprint sensor underneath the front display. There are mixed rumors about the device's launching. Some say that the Vivo NEX 2 is slated to arrive around Valentine's Day next year. But given how the live images of the device have been spreading like crazy and the rumors about it sporting a Snapdragon 845 chipset instead of a newer version could also mean that the device might arrive earlier than we expect.

Xiaomi Mi 9

Xiaomi Mi 8

Expected launch date: January-February, 2019

The Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display screen alongside an in-display fingerprint reader, which will also highlight a small circular notch housed with three rear cameras. The three rear cameras of the smartphone are rumored to consist of a 48MP sensor with a 13MP wide angle sensor and a 16MP depth sensor. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to launch in January 2019 or around the first few months of next year.

Samsung Galaxy Note10

Samsung Galaxy Note9

Expected launch date: August, 2019

The Samsung Galaxy Note10 is expected to arrive in August 2019, based on the company's handset release timeline. So far, leaked information reveals that it will most likely have a 6.66-inch display screen. Since the upcoming Samsung device is codenamed "Da Vinci", the company may be hinting at an upgraded S Pen with probably the same chipset as the Samsung Galaxy S10. There are also rumors that the Galaxy Note10 will also have an in-screen fingerprint scanner like the Galaxy S10. A triple-lens camera is also to be expected for the smartphone. Considering that the most recent Samsung flagship devices are water resistant, expect the same for the Galaxy Note10 alongside a curved Super AMOLED display screen. If you were surprised with the capabilities of the S Pen on the Galaxy Note9, it's safe to assume that the S Pen for the Note10 will have newer and better features as well.

So far, it seems like the trend for 2019 is the replacement of the notch design in favor of the in-display camera cutout. We're sure to see more in-display fingerprint scanner-equipped devices as well, not just on the high-end models, but on the mid-range models as well.
