The large display allows immersive yet comfortable viewing with blue light protection. Meanwhile, at its back, a massive 5,000mAh battery is housed in its all-plastic housing. The said battery claims 34 days of standby time; and in the PCMark battery test which stimulates common usage, it recorded 17 hours. Quite remarkable for an entry-level.

What is even more interesting, the Redmi 9A is the world's first smartphone to equip the MediaTek Helio G25 – a gaming-focused chipset with an octa-core processor. The chipset is said to be built for entry-level smartphones - that is why it can be fully appreciated with the Redmi 9A. If multitasking is your game, it can be limited as the phone is equipped with only 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.

Crowning the entry-level king, there is a 13MP camera at its rear and a 5MP camera at the front, featuring Pro Mode and a face unlock sensor, respectively.

Conclusion

It is no secret how the entry-levels are now very competitive in terms of performance and technology. Gone are the days when entry-levels smartphones couldn't do much but call and text.

Having a budget of PHP 5k certainly has its drawbacks, to give you an example, smartphones in this price range don't come with an AMOLED display, USB Type-C port, and fast charge support. Although it's still a matter of preference, choosing a smartphone nowadays is not as hard as before as the mobile market is rapidly innovating. In the future, we're certain that even entry-level smartphones will come equipped with the features we mentioned above.
