Energizer Power Max P18K Pop: A Smartphone with A Power Bank or A Power Bank with A Smartphone

Smartphone makers have been making smartphones with batteries that are pushing the limits when it comes to durability and longevity. The battery maker Energizer has decided to unveil a new device that packs a ton of power and with the looks to prove it.

The recent MWC event has seen the unveiling of new products, but one of the most noteworthy devices is a new smartphone from a very familiar battery brand. Known for their famous catch phrase "it keeps going and going and going", the Energizer brand has decided to come out with a smartphone that does exactly that.

The new Energizer Power Max P18K Pop sports the largest battery in the world with the looks to prove it. Sporting an 18,000mAh internal battery pack, this behemoth of a phone packs more power than the Samsung Galaxy S10+ and the Galaxy S10 combined.

The Power Max P18K Pop is capable of lasting up to 90 hours when used for phone calls and can go for up to 50 days on a Standby Mode. For users who use their smartphones to consume video will be happy to know that it would take 2 full days to drain the battery while playing videos.

What makes this phone appealing is that while it has the same bulk as some power banks, it can also serve as one, making this an appealing secondary phone option for people on the go. The main drawback for the Power Max P18K Pop is that it would take 9 hours to achieve a full charge once you drain its battery, and that's already on a Fast-charging Mode.

Other than the extended period required to charge this smartphone, the Power Max P18K Pop has a bit of heft to it and packs a bit of weight. This will not fit most pockets, so it's advisable to carry this in a bag to make the most out of this.

The Power Max P18K Pop is driven by MediaTek's Helio P70 chipset that features an octa-core 2.1GHz processor, which is comparable in performance to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 level chipsets. This smartphone is kitted with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM and comes with Android 9.0 Pie installed out of the box.

In the camera department, the device packs a dual-pop-up camera for selfies and a triple-camera setup at the rear.

Energizer's Power Max P18K Pop is scheduled for a September launch, no pricing details have been released yet and it's not immediately clear whether this will be available in the Philippines.
