There's no stopping the Xiaomi BLACK SHARK Gaming Phone from casting its prowess right against its counterparts, as the first gaming smartphone from the Chinese tech behemoth is still named as the best performing handset in AnTuTu's June 2018 list. The Snapdragon 845-equipped device edges out the iconic Vivo NEX S which was expected to top the exclusive group.
The Xiaomi BLACK SHARK Gaming Phone scored a staggering 287,759 points on AnTuTu's benchmark while the pop-up camera-bearing Vivo NEX S generated a close 284,227 points. Just trailing behind these titans is the recently-released OnePlus 6 which boasts with a slight lower output.
Last month's AnTuTu's list didn't exactly shock most tech onlookers. The industry is still led with smartphones that are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 chipset and judging by this list, it appears that these devices will still remain unbothered in the months to come, unless of course a newer flagship chipset surprises the crowd.
Xiaomi's current flagship offering, Xiaomi Mi 8 has also graced the list with 273,221 points. Completing the exclusive group are the Smartisan Nut R1, Samsung Galaxy S9+, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S, Samsung Galaxy S9, Sony Xperia XZ2, and ZTE's nubia Red Magic. ZTE's lone entry in the group is also notable for sporting last year's Snapdragon 835, which is technically a downgrade over its competitors on the list.
Another not-so-surprising entry is the Sony Xperia XZ2, which marks its debut on the list. And for Samsung onlookers, it should be noted that this list only comprises of Samsung's Galaxy S series with Snapdragon chipsets.
For rookies who are still curious, the famous AnTuTu list is taken from all benchmarks using the AnTuTu version 7. The collated scores are being averaged per device and not the highest ones. The handsets that were included on the list were variants with data from at least 1000 units.
