Best realme Gaming Smartphones 2021

The once-budding smartphone manufacturer is now a force to be reckoned with in the Philippines, not only in the budget-friendly competition but also in the race of the best gaming mobiles.

Featured 9 products in this article

In the Philippines, realme has already established its footing quite strongly that when Lazada and Shopee are having their usual promotional sales online, the brand always pops up at the top of their lists. In essence, the Chinese phone-maker is already synonymous with what once was Xiaomi's coveted moniker―the king of bang-for-your-buck smartphone brand.

Unlike Xiaomi, however, realme has also been busying itself, building a name in the realm of budget mobile gaming. Apart from that familiar quality and aesthetics, the firm has also targeted these users with its gaming-centric internals, which made more pronounced with the phones' ultra-appealing price tags.

Here are some of the best gaming smartphones from realme, which we promise will not break the bank.

9. realme C15

The realme C15 gets fueled by the Helio G35 chipset, the unofficial SoC of the realme C roster. This is the same chip that powers its siblings, the C12 and C11.

The realme C15 also has an array of RAM and ROM offerings, with its base starting from 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and maxing out at 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. All of its storage variants are expandable via the phone's dedicated microSD card slot.

Meanwhile, the realme C15 has a sizeable 6,000mAh battery, with support for 18W fast wired charging. Interestingly, the phone has launched with a somewhat dated Micro USB port.

Gamers are also bound to enjoy the realme C15's large 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel. Though the phone's display is only equipped with an HD resolution, realme still manages to arm it with Corning Gorilla Glass. Additionally, there's a dewdrop notch that houses an 8MP wide selfie shooter.

The realme C15 also features a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Bluetooth 5.0.

On the other hand, the realme narzo 20 also comes with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of expandable storage. The phone also works on a 6,000mAh battery, with support for 18W fast wired charging; a reverse charging feature is also included.

7. realme 7i

A clear standout in the aesthetics department, the realme 7i also boasts the best of all worlds off the realme 7 series.

Let's start with the realme 7i's display features. At the helm is a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass. The handset's display also boasts a high 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is noted for being one of the pioneers of the high display refresh rate in the local market's budget-friendly segment.

The realme 7i is also powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 662 chip. The processor, which is based on an 11nm architecture, also features an Adreno 610 GPU. The phone also has up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

Another highlight of the realme 7i is inarguably its sizeable 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast wired charging. This also thankfully supports a complementing USB Type-C port.

Other highlights of the realme 7i include a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The realme 7i runs on the proprietary realme UI based on Android 10.

6. realme 6

Before the realme 7i, the realme 6 was already a powerhouse relative to its display features. We're talking about the phone's provision of a high 90Hz refresh rate, accompanying a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel. The phone's display also supports 480 nits of typical brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The realme 6's impressive display offerings are only equaled by the phone's internals. These are headlined by MediaTek's Helio G90T chipset―an SoC based on a 12nm architecture. In the GPU department, the phone has Mali-G76 MC4.

The realme 6 also features up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. However, in terms of battery features, the phone is slightly behind the previous entries -with a still decent 4,300mAh battery capacity, but with support for 30W fast wired charging. According to realme, the phone's flat battery can be charged 100% in only 55 minutes.

A side-mounted fingerprint reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, a market-dependent NFC are some of the realme 6's other cool features.

5. realme 6 Pro

The Pro variant of the realme 6 lineup is essentially the vanilla realme 6, only infinitely more powerful and aesthetically pleasing―two features that should thrive well in the budget-friendly mobile gaming segment.

The realme 6 Pro features a 6.6-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a high 90Hz refresh rate, akin to the series' default version. Additionally, the phone's display supports 480 nits of typical brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 atop.

Though not strictly related to gaming, the realme 6 Pro also stands out in this regard as its display has a pill-shaped cutout, housing two selfie cameras.

Fronting its internals is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, with Adreno 618 GPU―a noticeable upgrade over its sibling. The phone also has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable UFS 2.1 storage onboard via its dedicated microSD card slot.

The realme 6 Pro didn't go extra with its still decent 4,300mAh battery, but with support for 30W fast wired charging.

Other key features of the realme 6 Pro include a side-mounted fingerprint reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.1, and USB Type-C.

Pros

4. realme 7 Pro

Despite its polarizing display features, the realme 7 Pro is still a mobile gaming powerhouse―all thanks to its robust set of internals.

The realme 7 Pro's hardware department is headlined by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 720G chipset, a reliable SoC based on an 8nm process; an Adreno 618 GPU is also featured. Meanwhile, the phone has up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage onboard.

realme finally bumps up the next-generation realme 7 Pro's battery features, with a 4,500mAh capacity. This also supports a staggering 65W fast wired charging. As per realme, its flat battery can be charged up to 100% in just 34 minutes.

The elephant in the room, to iterate, can be found in phone's display front. Although the realme 7 Pro is the first in the series to feature a Super AMOLED panel, the display surprising didn't come with support for a high refresh rate―a feature that was present in its predecessor's. Whatever the reason realme tried to come up with it, this lack of feature didn't sit well with the modern gamers.

Still, the realme 7 Pro's display features 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, with Corning Gorilla Glass 3+, Always On Display mode, and an in-display fingerprint reader. There's also a punch-hole, housing the phone's 32MP selfie shooter.

Other key gaming-related features of the phone include stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C.

Pros

  • Snapdragon 720G chip
  • Super AMOLED panel
  • 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast wired charging
  • Water-repellent coating

Cons

  • Plastic back and frame
  • No support for a high refresh rate

3. realme 7

There's definitely nothing regular with the vanilla realme 7, especially from a budget gamer's perspective.

A clear-cut upgrade over the realme 6 lineup, the realme 7 trumps its sibling with it retaining its support for a 90Hz screen refresh rate. Nevertheless, users still have to rely on the good ol' LCD panel, with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and an FHD+ resolution.

The realme 7 also features a slightly superior MediaTek Helio G95 chipset, with Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. The phone also packs up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. The handset's battery is also receiving a considerable battery upgrade―with a 5,000 capacity and support for 30W fast wired charging.

The realme 7, like its sibling, also did come with some missteps. Unlike the realme 7 Pro, this phone doesn't have a water-repellent coating. It also doesn't have stereo speakers.

Still, it boasts some fan-favorite features such as NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

Pros

  • 90Hz IPS LCD
  • MediaTek Helio G95
  • Up to 8GB of RAM
  • 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast wired charging support

Cons

  • No stereo speakers
  • No water-repellent coating

2. realme X3 SuperZoom

While its "SuperZoom" bit is the star of the show in this smartphone, one cannot simply disregard how it fares pretty well in the budget-friendly mobile gaming competition.

Its massive 6.6-inch IPS LCD panel alone, alongside its support for a high 120Hz refresh rate, the realme X3 SuperZoom is already a standout. Besides, the phone's display has Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The realme X3 SuperZoom's impressive display features are only made more pronounced by the phone's accompaniment of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855+ chipset, with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage; realme didn't equip the phone with a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion, however.

Like some of the entries in our list, the realme X3 SuperZoom also arrived with this slight misstep―an almost dismal battery capacity. At a 4,200mAh battery, you'd think realme could have decided better. Still, the phone supports 30W fast wired charging.

The usual favorites are also present―Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and USB Type-C.

Pros

  • Snapdragon 855+
  • 120Hz IPS LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass 5
  • Periscope telephoto lens

Cons

  • realme could have gone with an AMOLED panel instead
  • Plastic frame
  • Battery capacity is a bit underwhelming

1. realme X50 Pro 5G

When it comes to bang-for-your-buck gaming smartphones from realme, the X50 Pro 5G is easily king.

The only 5G-backed entry in the list, the realme X50 Pro 5G, is powered by the Snapdragon 865 chip, with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. Ultimately, the phone suffers from a dismal 4,200mAh battery capacity but with support for 65W fast wired charging.

Perhaps the most headline-grabbing feature of the realme X50 Pro 5G, apart from 5G, is its collective set of display features. It boasts a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED panel, with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a high 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The realme X50 Pro 5G also has a glass back and an aluminum frame.

Pros

  • 90Hz Super AMOLED with HDR10+

  • Support for 65W fast wired charging

Cons
