About OnePlus Mobile Phones

Marvelous Competitor

OnePlus phones are not well known in the US and the reason for that is because the phones themselves are not typically sold in retail stores, which just so happens to be the place where Americans usually buy their phones, for them to actually get an OnePlus phone they would have to buy the phone from the company website itself. But hopefully, sometime in the future Americans will see the true value of OnePlus phones, since now going to T-mobile stores, you would be able to find OnePlus phones. According to OnePlus they have tagged their phones as flagship killers and compared to other brands who tell the same tale, the company has time and time again proven that they are indeed flagship killer creators. If you consider buying OnePlus phones then you would have nothing to worry especially budget-wise since OnePlus phones come cheaper but with the same overall, performance, and premium design as any other flagship phones on the market. Each OnePlus as far as they have been released has always used the latest chipset available for that year which is the same chip used in more expensive flagship phones.

A Flagship Killer

OnePlus was made and shown to the world in December of 2014. The two co-founders of the company Peter Lau and Carl Pei both left their jobs at Oppo electronics to pursue their own brand under the banner of OnePlus. The company they thought of had high standards from the start, which was good and they had a good feeling on how to capture people with the brand. Lau and Pei felt that the Android market is a really good chance to show off how much they would gain, which is not being properly represented by the Nexus line. The result of their ideas was campaign driven. They even made forums for OnePlus employees, letting them have a poll as to what users were looking for in a phone. And to top it all off, Cyanogen was available. The pinnacle of Roms and hobbyists, and it can be found on the OnePlus X. Because of the OnePlus choice, to use OnePlus X they really made an effective marketing strategy to the consumers. The reason why CyanogenMod was so popular was that Android users, especially Nexus owners, wanted a go-to option to install their very own slice of Android. When using OnePlus X, you had an almost endless option of UI customizations you would not be able to find on the market today.

Famous Series

・ OnePlus 3 Series

Now starting with the OnePlus 3T is where OnePlus shined with their series. All they did was a minor upgrade to the relatively new OnePlus 3 they had released, but what the upgrade did, skyrocketed the OnePlus market up the industry, and they even gave the OnePlus 3T a new SoC, which was the new Snapdragon 821. What they also introduced to the community was a higher battery capacity capability, and a 64 or 128 GB of storage choice, and to top it off a 16 mp front camera. But even with all the high-grade specs it still fell to a budgeted price that matched the contents of Samsung's devices. A Front fingerprint sensor is also part of the OnePlus 3T along with support for 4G LTE networks and it also comes with Dual Sim functionality. With a Snapdragon 820 processor embedded inside, a 6GB of RAM, a 16MP rear camera, 8MP selfie camera, and an added fingerprint scanner, and finally a 3,000mAh fast-charging battery that can't be beat, the OnePlus 3 has all the tools it needs on paper at least to take on the big names in the smartphone industry. The OnePlus 2 claimed to be the 2016 Flagship Killer when it was released, and while it fell way too short of living up to that boast, the OnePlus 3 may just be able to claim the title.

・ OnePlus 7 Series

The OnePlus 7 packs itself with a very top-end Snapdragon 855 chipset that goes along with a choice of either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Your RAM choice is also very much tied to the amount of storage you'll get inside the phone, and that's either a 128GB or 256GB. But even the entry-level model will already provide plenty, with its performance. It already fits the 'very affordable flagship' device category. Except for, say, a foldable display, the OnePlus 7 Pro has enough features to keep its fans enticed. That's because OnePlus packed its latest flagship phone with pretty much every phone feature you've seen in the last year or so. Including a pop-up selfie camera, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and many cameras.

Famous Models

・ OnePlus 6

Check more Specs and Prices of OnePlus 6

The OnePlus 6 is a model that the company released that actually has the most polished, premium smartphone design the company has ever made in its existence. It boasts an entire screen only with only glass-made design, bringing it closer to Flagship phones like Samsung S9 and the iPhone and iPhone X, it's also fitted with a large 6.28-inch display complete with a notch currently on-trend, it also comes with dual rear-facing cameras, both fingerprint and face unlock is part of it as well, and the device can have up to 256GB of storage.

・ OnePlus X

Check more Specs and Prices of OnePlus X

It actually seemed like a dream on paper when OnePlus marketed their phones, Because the specs of the company's debut flagship phone were squeezed into a smaller, and amazingly well-constructed shell which is so darn adorable. But in reality, OnePlus did cut some corners for them to reach this design. And one of the consequences of this design was that the X suffered camera issues and in the display department, and for some reason OnePlus made the X to be able to support some increasingly common LTE bands found in North America. It's actually quite an odd device, because it did have unmatched raw performance, but was really unable to keep pace in any other ways.

・ OnePlus Nord

Check more Specs and Prices of OnePlus Nord

The OnePlus Nord is the one representing the emphatic return to the combination of style, features that OnePlus previously had, and once again the same affordability that made the brand stand out when it first arrived on the smartphone market in 2014 with the release of OnePlus One. It's the closest you would ever get to experience an almost-flagship experience, at a very much comfortable lower price tag than the OnePlus 8 series and Samsung models, the Nord also blends premium design, a very slick performance, and a topping of great cameras for a satisfying mix of a smartphone dream. Sadly though the difference between 2014 and 2020 however, is the fact that the market has moved on in more ways than one, and OnePlus is no longer the challenger everyone thought would be the champion. Because of the fact that the OnePlus Nord finds itself in a crowded mid-market filled with just as equally specs and designs, making it tougher fight for the phone to stand out just like before. But on the plus side as always the OnePlus Nord price is very much pleasing to the eye, and the handset itself already offers plenty enough for your money. OnePlus also comments that the Nord is is pretty much the phone you could ask for which case on point is true.

OnePlus Phones Features

Even as a very young company, OnePlus still releases the least models of smartphones. This just goes to show how one product of Oneplus gets more attention from developers from every perspective. So your device will always have the maximum chances to get the latest updates and security patches without any worries. Oneplus 3 is the 3-year-old model that received a PI update recently. Oneplus introduced the Dash charge feature which is only exclusive for OnePlus mobiles, as this technology uses a very high current of 4 Amperes while other smartphones use the VOOC technology for its own fast charge. Dash charges actually have no issues of overheating like VOOC while charging and this is why dash charger is great. Oneplus also has a price range which is quite high for the middle-class phone, but for this price, it is very much worth it as you get the best hardware that is actually more future-proof compared to some of the higher class brands.
