Xiaomi RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16 Launched with 10th Gen Intel Processors

Xiaomi just launched the new RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16. Both laptops come available with either an Intel Core i5-1035G1 or Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor, and offer up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage alongside an NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU.

Xiaomi has launched new editions of the RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16 packing them with 10th generation Intel Core processors. These laptops are follow-ups to the AMD Ryzen-powered Notebook models launched earlier in May. The Intel editions are also paired with an NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU. Aside from that, both laptops are identical to their AMD counterparts.

Specs-wise, the Intel-powered RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16 are identical with some minor differences, the importance being the screen size. Needless to say that the RedmiBook 14 II comes with a 14-inch display while the RedmiBook 16 features a 16-inch display.

The displays of both laptops come with full HD+ resolution and almost the same 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. However, the RedmiBook 14 II offers an option for selecting a screen with better color accuracy.

The new RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16 are powered by an Intel Core i5-1035G1 or Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor, which are based on the Intel 10nm Ice Lake architecture which has four cores. Both come with Intel Iris Plus Graphics and offer NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU as an option.

Memory-wise, both laptops features up to 16GB DDR4 RAM clocked at 3,200MHz and up to 512GB SSD storage. The RedmiBook 14 II also has 8GB RAM models besides the 16GB RAM model, whereas the RedmiBook 16 only comes with a 16GB RAM configuration.

On the connectivity front, the RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16 come with dual-band Wi-Fi 6, 2x2 MIMO WLAN, Bluetooth 5.1, two USB Type-C ports, two USB Type-A ports, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Two 2W speakers with DTS sound handle the audio part. Both the laptops have Windows 10 Home preinstalled.

The RedmiBook 14 II being the smaller one, weighs 1.3kg while the RedmiBook 16 weighs 1.8kg. The RedmiBook 14 II also gets a smaller 40Whr battery compared to the RedmiBook 16's 46Whr battery. However, both are equipped with the same 65W USB Type-C charger.

With these specs, web browsing, documentations, light multimedia tasks and gaming should be a breeze for both the RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16. But there's a catch, the only drawback on both laptops is the absence of a physical webcam.

Pricing and Availability

The RedmiBook 14 II comes in a silver color option and as many as four configurations. The Intel Core i5 8GB RAM model is priced at CNY 4,699 (around PHP 33,200) while the Intel Core i5 16B RAM model costs CNY 4,999 (around PHP 35,300). The Intel Core i7 8GB RAM model and the Intel Core i7 16GB RAM model are priced at CNY 5,399 (around PHP 38,200) and CNY 5,699 (around PHP 40,300), respectively.

On the other hand, the RedmiBook 16 is offered in a gray color option and two configurations. The Intel Core i5 16GB RAM model is priced at CNY 4,999 (around PHP 35,300) whereas the Intel Core i7 16GB model can set you back at CNY 5,699 (around PHP 40,260).

The RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16 are slated to go on sale in China starting July 15. There is no announcement regarding its international availability as of this writing.
