Xiaomi Overview

Xiaomi Corporation is a Chinese electronics company headquartered in Beijing which makes and invests in smartphones, mobile apps, accessories, laptops, and many more. The very first Xiaomi laptop was introduced in 2016. The company decided to tap into the laptop market as it identified a potential market to deliver the right balance between performance and portability, as well as to make it easier for young adults to afford a PC for productivity. Xiaomi is most famous for its smartphone devices so launching its first-ever laptop line was a huge surprise to everyone.

    Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air (2018 and 2019)

    Xiaomi launched two Mi Notebook Air ultrabooks in 12.5" and 13.3" displays. It is made out of full-sized keyboard in a full metal body. The screens are fully laminated FHD display with edge-to-edge glass protection with a hardness of 7 on Mohs scale. Xiaomi incorporated and Austrian manufacturer AKG Acoustics for the speakers and enhanced the bass with Dolby Audio Premium Surround Sound technology. It has a Mi Sync software and Mi Cloud connection.

    Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G

    Almost the same with the vanilla Ni Notebook Air but this time, Xiaomi released the Mi Notebook Air 4G with built-in 4G LTE by a SIM card.

    Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop 1st and 2nd Edition

    Mi Gaming Laptop has a faster SD reader and wireless connection, with two bios fans modes. It plays all the latest games in 1080p and has a good thermal, RGB lighting, and a spare NVMe x 4 drive slot and does not have any no gaming logos or design.

    Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro

    One of the first notebooks to receive the latest Intel chipset, the Mi Notebook sports a 15.6-inches 1080p IPS with a glossy glass covered screen with 88% RGB coverage. The built of the laptop is pretty similar to other Xiaomi laptops with a thin full metal build, no logos on the lid and downward-firing speakers. The only difference is that this time, it uses Harman Infinity speakers.

    Other improvements are the keyboard, the touchpad, and the cooling. Each key is spaced out more, better feedback, the keys aren't 100% flat either they have a slight inward curvature with 1.3mm of travel. It also has optional backlit with two settings. Xiaomi also opted for two equal-sized fans and a much larger cooling heat-transfer pipe for cooling. The device is powered by a 60wh battery which is good for up to 10 hours of surfing the internet. The touchpad is big enough and has Windows precision drivers and full Windows 10 gesture support for great accuracy. Within the touchpad there is also an Elan fingerprint reader, it works well and unlocks the notebook in an instant.
