Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Is Now Official With 48MP Camera, Priced At PHP 7,800

After weeks of incessant leaks, the heavily-teased Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 with a staggering 48MP camera and an irresistible price tag is now a reality.

Xiaomi has outdone itself yet again with the official release of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7.

Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun has finally and officially announced the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. Dubbed as the first smartphone to have emerged from Xiaomi's recently-declared sub-brand Redmi, the smartphone has generated a significant amount of buzz weeks before its eventual release. And for obvious reasons.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 offers two main attractions. The first, and is therefore unmistakable, is the inclusion of a game-changing 48MP rear camera. The camera is notably equipped with Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor. Apart from the staggering camera sensor itself, it should be noted that the camera is being armed on a budget-friendly device, from a series that's famed for its entry-level to mid-range smartphone offerings.

Right next to its ambitious camera setup, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is also noted for its cheap price tags. For a smartphone with such caliber, the device comes with a price tag of CNY 999 (around PHP 7,800) for its base 3GB/32GB variant. The handset also retails in two other variants – the 4GB/64GB which carries a price tag of CNY 1,199 (around PHP 9,200) and the 6GB/64GB edition which is priced at CNY 1,399 (PHP 10,800).

Everything else on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is what would someone expect from a smartphone that comes from a newly-anointed sub-brand – a slew of top-grade albeit mid-range offerings. Under the hood, the device is powered by Snapdragon 660 and features a massive 6.3-inch waterdrop notched screen and a full HD+ resolution.

Meanwhile, the 48MP camera is coupled with a 5MP secondary sensor. On the device's notch, a larger 13MP selfie camera is sitting. Also among its huge surprise is the accompaniment of a USB-C port, a first for the series.

The preorders for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 have already started and are expected to be shipped on January 15. The device retails in three color variants – Dream Blue, Bright Black, and Twilight Gold.
