Xiaomi's eagerly-anticipated Mi 10 smartphone series has finally been launched. And in a typical Xiaomi strategy, the Chinese tech giant did not only release the vanilla one but also upped its game by releasing a Pro variant.
About Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro
Display and Design
The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are identical in terms of their design aspirations. They both sport curved displays, alongside a camera cutout placed on the upper left-hand side. Additionally, the phones also come with curved glass back panels, with speaker grilles situated at the top and bottom of the handsets.
Both the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro sport 6.67-inch Super AMOLED displays with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. Both also have the same other perks that make their offerings in this segment a standout. These include DCI-P3, HDR10+, a 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch-sensing, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro also boast the same aluminum frame.
Power and Storage
Powering the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro is Qualcomm's latest flagship chipset, Snapdragon 865. Meanwhile, the former is coupled with three variants based on its RAM and storage – 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB. The Pro variant, on the other hand, comes with 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB. Both of the phones' internal storage options are non-expandable.
There is a slight difference between the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro relative to their battery features. The Mi 10 works on a 4,780mAh battery while the Pro edition boasts an interestingly, slightly smaller 4,500mAh battery. Still, the former comes with 30W fast battery charging while the latter is equipped with 50W. Both also have support for 30W fast wireless charging.
The regular Xiaomi Mi 10 sports a quadruple-camera setup on its rear, led by a game-changing 108MP wide camera. The primary camera is then flanked by a series of sensors, which include 13MP ultrawide lens, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP depth sensors. The phone also houses a large 20MP front-facing sensor in its display cutout.
It is in the camera department in which the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro truly shines. Though it still offers the same quad-cam setup on its rear, Xiaomi substantially beefs up some of its sensors. On paper, the phone's rear camera system consists of a 108MP wide camera, 8MP telephoto lens, 12MP portrait camera, and 20MP ultrawide lens. The handset also sports the same front-facing camera with that of the standard Mi 10.
OS, Connectivity, and Sensors
The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro both run on the latest MIUI 11, based on Android 10.0. They both also have in-display, optical fingerprint readers, accelerometer, gyro, and proximity sensors, among others.
Both the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro feature 5G connectivity.
