Toyota Motor Philippines has just unveiled the Toyota Vios 1.3 XLE 2020, its newest offering in the budget-friendly subcompact sedan segment. The latest variant slots above the Base, J, and XE in Toyota's popular lineup.
TMP Vice President Cristina Arevalo shared that the Toyota Vios XLE is developed to provide its consumers that esteemed freedom of choice on how they want to purchase and modify their vehicles. Arevalo added that the new variant is also a top choice for those who seek the perfect blend between affordability and style, one that doesn't sacrifice the Vios' practical features, perks in which the series has always been known for.
In terms of exterior styling, the Toyota Vios 1.3 XLE 2020 appears to be a straight-up Vios 1.3 E. It features 15-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, bulb type rear combination lamps, 4-beam halogens for the front, and front fog-lamps.
Under the proverbial hood, the Toyota Vios 1.3 XLE 2020 shares the same engine with all the 1.3-liter models. As it is, it is powered by the 1NR-FE, DOHC, inline-4 with dual VVT-i gasoline engine, which can produce around 98 horsepower and 123Nm of torque. Meanwhile, its power is sent to its front wheels with a CVT or a 5-speed manual.
Like the Vios 1.3 E, the Toyota Vios 1.3 XLE 2020 is also well-equipped relative to its interior offerings. It features a seven-inch touchscreen, which also sports a slew of connectivity options such as Weblink for iOS and Android. Additionally, the new variant is also equipped with four speakers.
Toyota didn't skimp on providing the Vios 1.3 XLE 2020 with some of its notable safety features. The variant is armed with an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, stability control, and hill-start assist. The Japanese automaker, however, omits four of the seven airbags from its interior. The same can be said with other variants such as XE, J, and Base.
As such, the Toyota Vios 1.3 XLE 2020 should feature a pair of front airbags for its driver and passenger, right alongside a designated knee airbag for the driver. The ones which were removed are the side airbags for the front occupants and the pair of curtain airbags that stretch from the front to its rear side windows.
