Infused with the GAZOO Racing pizzazz, the new Vios GR-S variant should readily provide a more exciting affair to the already established, top-selling sedan lineup from Toyota.

Toyota Motor Philippines has revealed on its Facebook page that the new Vios GR Sport will soon be arriving in the country. Now, while the exact model wasn't announced on its post, the accompanying teaser suggested a front bumper that is evidently off the sporty Vios variant, alongside the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Sport badge, of course.

The Toyota Vios GR-S made its debut in Malaysia recently. Should it truly arrive in the local market, the vehicle will mark the first GR-S model in the Toyota Motor Philippines' lineup.

Toyota Vios GR-S Rumored Specifications

How does the upcoming Toyota Vios GR-S differ from the average Vios, anyway? For starters, the former boasts a fresh look that is decidedly that of a racetrack veteran. This gets more apparent with its prominent exterior, headlined by the prestigious GR emblem and a sporty front bumper, grille, spoiler, and aero kit.

Meanwhile, the Toyota Vios GR-S will have a more pronounced façade, front-lined by a grille that flaunts a honeycomb design. The vehicle's side intake vents, on the other hand, have horizontal slats, while its equally new side skirts are fitted, right along with a rehabilitated rear bumper and integrated diffuser.

Sealing this formidable look is the Toyota Vios GR-S' trunk lip spoiler, plus black mirrors, door handles, and GR badges. The sporty car is then tipped to roll with black, high-performing 16-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the Toyota Vios GR-S is slated to introduce semi-bucket sport seats, more pronounced by thicker bolstering. You should also see red stitching throughout, with the steering wheel, seats, and shift lever getting the most of it. The car should also be donned with a new infotainment system, fitted with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Fueling the Toyota Vios GR-S will be a 1.5-litre four-cylinder dual VVT-I engine which should produce 105hp and 140Nm of torque. The possible Philippine counterpart could also very well receive the 10-Speed CVT variety.

Finally, the said Vios GR-S variant is also going to be manufactured in the Philippines. As it stands, it should be exempted from safeguard duties.

Following an online launch event on the 13th, the new Toyota Vios GR-S is scheduled to become available in all of TMP's dealerships across the country starting March 15, 2021. The vehicle will retail for PHP 1,020,000 for the Super Red V and Black 1 colorways, and PHP 1,035,000 for the White Pearl Crystal Shine colorway.
