2020 Toyota Corolla Altis Launching on September 9, Pricing and Specs Revealed
Toyota is all set to launch the new Corolla Altis model next week for the Philippine market. The hybrid models are one of the most affordable options in the market as it takes advantage of tax discounts and passes those savings down to consumers.
With the scheduled launch of the all-new 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis coming up on September 9, plenty of news and leaks have been circulating around the web, with the information ranging from technical specs to pricing details. Due to the overwhelming amount of information that's available, Toyota decided to officially release the specs and details to ensure that the information about their new sedan offering is correct.
The 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis non-hybrid models are set to launch with two engine variants for the Philippine market, the 1ZR-FE engine which features a 1.6-liter block with four cylinders and can output 121 HP, and the 2ZR-FXE which features a 1.8-liter block that can output 121 HP. For the hybrid models, the new Corolla Altis is set to be equipped with a 43-liter gas tank while the non-hybrid models are set to have a 50-liter gas tank. There are two options available for transmission, which are 6-speed manual transmission and automatic transmission.
The 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis Hybrid model is going to be equipped with a 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle engine block with four cylinders and will be equipped with an electric motor. It's not immediately known what power levels this new engine is going to be capable of, but what's for sure is that the 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis will come with options for a CVT automatic transmission and a 5-speed manual transmission.
The 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis is going to have a starting price tag of PHP 999,000, which is going to get new motorists the entry-level 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6E model with manual transmission.
The most expensive model is the 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8V Hybrid model which comes in the White Pearl colorway and costs PHP 1,595,000. This marks the first Corolla Altis hybrid model that Toyota Motor Philippines is set to offer in the Philippine market. The company hopes to get some traction on their hybrid offerings with the new Corolla Altis as most people are not very familiar with the Prius line of hybrid cars.

The most affordable hybrid in this line is the 2020 Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8V Hybrid which comes in a non-Pearl White colorway and costs PHP 1,580,000 making it more affordable than the Honda Civic RS.
