The Suzuki Swift Dzire is the sedan version of the famous Suzuki Swift hatchback. Competing on the b-segment in the market, the Swift Dzire is a good choice for those who loves the design and handling of the Suzuki Swift hatchback but yearns more of a larger cabin and cargo space.
The vehicle comes with an amazing aggressive yet mellow modern design. As the twin brother of the Suzuki Swift hatchback, the Swift Dzire is features basically the design lines with the most noticeable difference found on the back.
The Swift Dzire powerplant outputs a great fuel mileage and is a perfect car for novice drivers or a small family. It handles easily inside the city where the streets are narrow and full of tight corners. Although its perfectly designed to drive inside the city. The Suzuki Swift Dzire can also accompany you on long drives. It's as basic as it could be, delivering you to your point of destination without any fuss.
It offers large features for a compact vehicle. The vehicle looks tall with a height of 1,515mm and 145mm ground clearance.
Overall, the Suzuki Swift Dzire is a very practical vehicle that offers a modern sporty design. Although it leans more on the economic side of performance. Practicality wise, its one of the best choices for an economic car developed by a notable Japanese car manufacturer.
Under the hood, the Suzuki Swift Dzire is mounted with an improved 1,197cc 4-cylinders 16-valves K12M gasoline engine with direct action intake VVT producing 82Hp and 113Nm of torque.
There are 2 transmission options available, a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed automatic transmission. The Automatic transmission features a manual drive mode where you can freely shift gears the way you do with a manual transmission vehicle. Aiding the gearbox is a Suzuki's intelligent actuating system where the gearshift is controlled by the ECU and TCU for precise timing. Note that not many vehicles in this class offers an automatic transmission with a 5-speed gearbox.
Other features of the Suzuki Swift Dzire are Dual Front Airbags, Security Alarm, Brake Assist, Immobilizer, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and ISOFIX.
Basically, the Suzuki Swift Dzire look similar with the hatchback version Suzuki Swift. Difference in design can be found on the chrome linings up front around the front grille and below the housing of the fog lamps, as well as the rear portion of the vehicle.
The front fascia sports a noticeable wide grille and instructive bumper complementing its genuine design. There are large multi reflector headlamp which looks like a grade lower than its hatchback counterpart while the side mirror comes with repeaters which gives it's a plus.
The roofline is quite high and flows beautifully from the tilting A-pillar up to the C-pillar. At the back, the Dzire sports a stylish combination rear lamps with LED. The rear bumper also comes with noticeable skirt like lines showing more character. Overall, the new design is a big update and is far better than its predecessor.
Suzuki designed the body to optimize the best aerodynamics results without sacrificing the cabin space. TECT (Total Effective Control Technology) is the core in building the Swift Dzire's body to efficiently absorb the energy from unwanted crash and avoid as much damage as possible for the vehicle and passengers.
The Swift Dzire is fitted with a 15-inch alloy wheel with 185/65 R15 tires.
Inside the cabin, you'll be greeted with a sophisticated design with silver accents on the front gauge, aircon vents and around the gear lever. The execution Suzuki did with the interior design is great despite the hard plastic all over the cabin.
Upfront, you'll be greeted with a D-shaped steering wheel which is very stylish and modern. The gauge cluster features 2 larger analog display, one for the tachometer and the other one for the speed meter highlighted with silver accents and white illumination. In the middle, there's a digital display showing other info such as the gasoline level, odometer and others.
The GL variant comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is easy to use but does not feature Apple Car Play or Android Auto. There also no reverse sensors, but one of the Swift Dzire's great features is that it comes with a dual aircon vent at the back, up front, a basic quad vent upfront controlled via manual dial system is available. The seats are very comfortable with enough seat cushion and bolsters to optimize the amount of comfort for the driver and passengers. It also comes with a height adjuster and the seat features a high-grade fabric with willow riverside pattern giving a premium look and is more practical under a hot weather.
Although all the windows inside might be smaller compared to its competitors, All around visibility is basically good. The leg room and head room is above average but the width might not be the most ideal for 3 average size adults. The rear seats also feature a center arm rest with 2 cupholders and a 12v socket in front along the rear air-conditioning vent. The cargo area boasts of a respectable 378 liters of space which should be enough to accompany your family's overnight baggage.
The Suzuki Swift Dzire also offers practicality as there are abundant storage places available inside the cabin. The front door pockets can easily hold drink bottles, the front console has ample space for small accessories like your cellphone in addition to 2 cup holders. Even the rear door comes with storage spaces as well as the passenger seat back pocket like you usually see on airplanes.
