Another premium iteration from the Galaxy S20 lineup is bound to be unveiled on September 23, Samsung has teased. The South Korean tech giant has scheduled an Unpacked event where the Fan Edition off the aforementioned series is expected to debut.
The unveiling is confirmed to be live-streamed and should also appear across major platforms and Samsung.com.
The latest development surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE's launch date comes on the heels of the phone's spotting on China's TENAA agency, bearing some of its key specifications.
The Galaxy S20 FE, which carries a model designation SM-G7810, is revealed to feature a 6.5-inch display, a 4,500mAh battery, and dual SIM capabilities.
The Galaxy S20 FE's dimensions were also outed. Accordingly, the phone will come in at 159.8 x 74.5 x 8.4(mm); this places the device in between the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ in terms of size.
Meanwhile, a previous leak suggests that the phone is likely to arrive with a 120Hz Super AMOLED panel, with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, alongside a 32-megapixel selfie snapper.
It is likely that the Galaxy S20 FE would sport a flat Infinity-O display.
On its rear, the Galaxy S20 FE could launch with a triple-camera setup, headlined by a 12MP sensor with OIS; its auxiliary sensors might include a 12MP ultrawide lens and an 8MP telephoto module with 3x optical zoom.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is also tipped to debut with 4G and 5G variants, with the former being equipped with Samsung's in-house Exynos 990 system-on-a-chip. The latter, on the other hand, could be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 chipset.
Other notable features that may debut with the Fan Edition are an in-display fingerprint reader, IP68 protection, support for 15W fast wired charging, and Wireless PowerShare.
The Galaxy S20 FE is reported to arrive with six color variants. These hues could include Purple, Mint Green, and Navy Blue versions. Other colorways are White, Red, and Gold.
In terms of price, it is speculated that the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition could be announced with a price tag of KRW 900,000 (around PHP 36,900).
