Samsung Galaxy Note10 Series: New Features You Should Know

Samsung looks like it's done its homework with the Galaxy Note10 series as it managed to make the new smartphones even more powerful when it seemed like nothing could outdo the Note9. While the new Galaxy Note smartphones have done away with the 3.5mm headphone jack, it more than made up for it by introducing new features.

When it comes to smartphones, the Galaxy Note series is known for providing innovative new features that allow its users to achieve a high level of productivity thanks to its intuitive user interface. When it first came out, it was the leader of its kind as it allowed users to jot down notes easily as writing down on paper, plus providing the needed computing muscle power that allows users to run their apps smoothly.

Now that the new Galaxy Note10 series is out, here are the top features it has to offer.

Display: 2 Sizes, Better Quality

The two newest members of the Galaxy Note family, the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ mark the first time that Samsung has offered multiple options in the line, as previous versions only came in one form factor and just allowed users to choose the RAM or storage variant that they needed. The new versions now have two different screen sizes, with the Galaxy Note10 having a 6.3-inch screen and the Galaxy Note10+ having a larger 6.8-inch screen. As a refresher, the Galaxy Note9 came with a 6.4-inch screen.

Both the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ use Dynamic AMOLED panels and boast of the Cinematic Infinity Display technology where the company has managed to slim down the bezels to be even thinner compared to last year's Note9.

Newly Improved Camera Setup

The top of the display panel is occupied by a small punch hole that houses the front-camera and was designed to be discreet when in use. The front panel is wrapped with Corning Gorilla Glass 6, giving natural protection from scratches even without a screen protector, though installing is always recommended. The new camera setup and the improved front-facing camera specs are paired with revamped camera software which boasts that it can allow users to capture cinematic videos.

The new camera system boasts of a new Zoom-In Mic feature, screen recorder, AR Doodle allowing you to add effects to images and videos, 3D scanner, Night Mode on both the front and the back camera and a new built-in video editor. Samsung says that the camera software can also cater to content creators like vloggers and streamers, which is a huge breakthrough, but the actual real-world performance remains to be seen, though reviews of the camera performance are expected to come out soon, so that's something to look forward to.

Thinner and Lighter

The form factor of the two new Galaxy Note smartphones are thin and light, with the Galaxy Note10 weighing just 168 grams and the Galaxy Note10+ 196 grams. It's still easy to hold and very light.

The design has also been improved because now Samsung makes use of new components that allowed them to trim down the excess weight found on older Galaxy Note smartphones, giving owners a sleeker phone that is both lightweight and easy to hold.

More Exciting Features With the S Pen

The biggest feature of the Galaxy Note series has always been the ability for users to jot down notes. The S Pen for this generation has been greatly improved, plus it now packs an improved battery where it can now last up to 10 hours on a single charge, which is a whole lot longer compared to the previous S Pen on the Note9. The famous Screen off memo feature is now improved as it now allows users to choose from 5 colors of the "ink" used for writing notes and it also comes with a new feature called S Pen Air actions. This feature allows users to use gestures to activate a certain action like switching camera modes or zooming in and out. Another way to put it, it's like using your S Pen as a magic wand to operate your phone.

What's also improved is the Handwriting to Text feature as it now allows users to digitize their handwriting, converting it to text on supported apps like MS Word or even PDF format, which is a huge time saver since notes jotted in previous notes didn't have this feature and users would have to retype in order to transcribe their notes to a readable, professional format. This feature would especially come in use for users who take down notes during meetings.

More Power

The performance has also been bumped up as the Galaxy Note10 smartphones now have bigger batteries and more powerful chipsets that boast a 33-42 percent bump in performance compared to the Galaxy Note9, which is impressive since the Galaxy Note9 still manages to impress to this day. Other features added are, the new 12GB RAM configuration, 45W super-fast charging, wireless PowerShare, AI-based game booster and a 5G model.
