Samsung Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion With Superior QLED Displays Announced

The Samsung Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion are touted as the first notebooks to feature QLED displays on the market.

Samsung has just announced the Galaxy Book Flex and the Galaxy Book Ion. Unveiled at the Samsung Developer Conference 2019 (SDC19), the South Korean tech giant's latest notebooks highlight on the importance of ultra-portability and the power of reliable computing experience to meet its modern users' needs.

Both the Samsung Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion sport what Samsung claims to be the world's first QLED display. The game-changing display on these laptops features the Outdoor Mode, which ensures that every user can see every detail on the screen despite being under bright sunlight, thanks to its capability to reach 600 nits. This is quite a feat in this segment, having deemed to be the most superior in its class.

Update: Dell just released their newest rugged tablet sporting an 11.6-inch 1,000-nit FHD display.

The Samsung Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion are also noted to go on cordless for days, made possible by the devices' enduring batteries and power-conserving displays. And then there is the brand's Wireless PowerShare feature which can charge any Qi-compatible smartphone, Galaxy Buds or wearable right on top of the laptops' touchpad.

In terms of dimensions, modern users can only expect the Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion to slip easily right into their bags or backpacks as both devices feature Samsung's familiar design legacy which boasts ultra-thinness and lightness all rolled into one.

As its name suggests, the Samsung Galaxy Book Flex comes equipped with the capability to rotate its display 360 degrees. The device is available in 2 sizes, 13 inches and 15 inches.

In addition, the Galaxy Book Flex also comes with the latest generation S Pen as well as support for gesture controls similar to that of the Galaxy Note10. Under the hood, the notebook is also coupled with up to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. Also, the device comes with a fingerprint reader for added security.

Galaxy Book Ion Other Features

Between the two, the Galaxy Book Ion is the obvious choice if one is looking for an ultra-lightweight option. The device is made with ultralight magnesium, while its clamshell frame and neat design are developed evidently with portability in mind. It only measures 12.9/14.9mm thick and weighs less than a kilogram.

Similar to the Galaxy Book Flex, the other key features of the Galaxy Book Ion are memory configurations of up to 16GB DDR4 and up to 1TB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage.
