Realme X50 5G Now Official with 120Hz Display, Dual Punch-hole and Custom ColorOS
The Realme X50 5G is now selling in China, all packed with impressive features such as a 6.57-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 64MP main rear camera, dual front camera, and up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.
The Realme X50 5G is one of those smartphones that had been the subject of numerous leaks and rumors last year. With the onset of 5G technology, mobile phone makers rush to develop offerings that are 5G-ready and Realme is one of those pioneers. Being the brand's first 5G-enabled handset, the Realme X50 5G had been much awaited.
Now it's official, the Realme X50 5G has arrived and went on its first sale in China a couple of days ago. The handset was immediately sold out indicating that there is quite a lot of interest in the smartphone.
The X50 5G sports most of the leaked specifications but with a few surprises as well. The midrange handset looks classy with its all-glass, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, front and back supported by an aluminum frame. It comes with a 6.57-inch IPS LCD 1080p x 2400p display with an 90.4% screen-to-body ratio. It refreshes at an impressive 120Hz. A small pill-shaped cutout is seen at the upper left corner of the screen where a dual punch-hole sits housing the front cameras. Unlike the other X-series phones, the fingerprint reader of the X50 5G is side-mounted.
Inside the pretty frame is the mid-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC that works best with 5G-enabled devices because of its integrated 5G modem. The octa-core CPU is paired with an Adreno 620 GPU for better graphics and gaming performance. Memory is supported by a fast-performing 6GB of RAM for the standard model and 8GB and 12GB for the top variants which are matched with an immense 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.
For the first time, Realme has packed the X50 5G with its own custom Realme UI, ColorOS 7.0, over Android 10 instead of using OPPO's ColorOS.
The X50 5G boasts a quad-camera array at the rear, topped by a 64MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and a phase-detect autofocus (PDAF) feature. The other snappers are a 12MP f/3.0 telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and PDAF feature, an 8MP f/2.3 ultrawide and a 2MP f/2.4 dedicated macro sensor. Upfront is a dual 16MP + 8MP ultrawide selfie setup.
Lastly, a 4,200mAh battery with VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge support ensures the user can enjoy all of the X50 5G's superb features. For efficient cooling, the handset is equipped with an 8mm liquid-cooled copper pipe.
Price depends on memory capacity: the 8GB RAM / 128GB ROM unit is priced at CNY 2,499 (around PHP 18,200), 6GB / 256GB at CNY 2,699 (around PHP 19,700) and 12GB / 256GB at CNY 2,999 (around PHP 21,800).
