OPPO Reno5's PH Launch Now Imminent

More than a month after its debut in the Chinese market, the OPPO Reno5 5G is finally headed to the country.

On its official Facebook account, OPPO Philippines has just released a series of video teasers of the OPPO Reno5, hinting at the smartphone's imminent release.

In its posts, OPPO's local arm revealed one of the Reno5's main highlights – the AI Mixed Portrait mode, in which users can create surreal image effects with just a few clicks away.

Subsequent to that, OPPO also teased the Reno5's Dual-View Video mode. The feature should allow you to capture twice as many scenes.

Announced in China on December 10, 2020, the OPPO Reno5, is built upon the main premise of its predecessor – that is, an all-rounder smartphone.

The OPPO Reno5 features a 6.43-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. The phone's display, which sports a cutout, also supports a high 90Hz refresh rate, with 600 nits of typical and 750 nits of peak brightness. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection is also revealed in the mix.

Around the back of the OPPO Reno5 is a quadruple-camera setup, front-lined by a 64MP wide unit. The main camera is then accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens and two 2MP macro and depth sensors.

Alongside an LED flash, all of these are housed in a rectangular camera module. The phone also houses a large 32MP selfie snapper in its display punch-hole.

Additionally, the OPPO Reno5 has a back panel made of glass and a frame made of aluminum.

Inside, the OPPO Reno5 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765G chipset, a processor based on a 7nm architecture; an Adreno 620 GPU is also featured.

The OPPO Reno5 is also backed by 8GB/12GB of LPDDR4X RAM tiers and 128GB/256GB of non-expandable UFS 2.1 storage options. Meanwhile, the handset works with a 4,300mAh battery capacity, with support for 65W fast wired charging. There's also support for reverse charging.

The OPPO Reno5 is also home to a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C, and an in-display fingerprint reader. The phone also supports Face Unlock and Dolby Atmos.

On the software front, the OPPO Reno5 runs on ColorOS 11.1, based on the latest Android 11.

The OPPO Reno5 retails in three color variants – Starry Night, Aurora Blue, and Moonlight Black.

OPPO Philippines is still mum on the pricing and availability of the Reno5 in the country. Expect these details to pop up online very soon.
