OPPO has officially announced the Reno4 series. Comprising the regular Reno4 and the Reno4 Pro variants, the newest entries of the company's popular lineup succeed the Reno3 and Reno3 Pro, which were launched in China during the fourth quarter of 2019.
As it is with a refreshed lineup, both smartphones come with key upgrades on design and specifications.
About OPPO Reno4 and Reno4 Pro
Display and design
Both the OPPO Reno4 and Reno4 Pro offer almost similar display features. The former sports a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen, while the latter packs a slightly larger 6.5-inch display. Interestingly, the Reno4 is the entry that is equipped with a pill-shaped cutout on its screen, housing a dual front-facing camera setup.
The OPPO Reno4 Pro, on the other hand, receives a display cutout, one that only houses a single selfie snapper. Nevertheless, the Pro edition of the series' display gets a 90Hz refresh rate and is HDR10+-compliant.
Power and storage
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765G powers both the OPPO Reno4 and Reno4 Pro. The phones are then aided by 8GB/12GB of RAM tiers with 128GB/256GB of internal storage options.
The standard OPPO Reno4 sports a 4,020mAh battery, with support for 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast wired charging. This is the same fast charging in the Pro variant, which boasts a slightly less juicy 4,000mAh battery.
The OPPO Reno4 Pro trumps its sibling in the camera department. It features a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor on its rear camera setup. Its main sensor is then accompanied by a 12MP Sony IMX708 ultra-wide lens and a 13MP telephoto camera. Its system also comes with laser autofocus.
Meanwhile, the OPPO Reno4, while sporting a 48MP primary camera, is equipped with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, alongside a 2MP B&W module. It also comes with laser autofocus on its rear. Its dual-front-facing camera setup features 32MP and 2MP sensors.
The Pro variant is donned with a 32MP selfie snapper.
OS and other features
Both the OPPO Reno4 and Reno4 Pro run on ColorOS 7.2 that is based on the current Android 10. The two handsets are also equipped with an optical, in-display fingerprint reader, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and USB Type-C.
