It's been almost a year since the debut of the OPPO F15, and now eight months after, its successors are finally official. Dubbed as the OPPO F17 and F17 Pro, the two phones launch with impressively thin bearings and overall faster performance.
About the OPPO F17 Series
Display and design
Both phones are around 7.5mm thick and don't weigh above 165g. The devices are also noted for their slightly curved sides and backs, making the phones easy and comfortable to hold.
The OPPO F17 and F17 Pro both feature Super AMOLED panels with embedded fingerprint readers. The Pro variant comes with a 6.43-inch display, while the vanilla variant is speculated to be sporting a slightly larger 6.44-inch display. The Pro variant packs a screen with a dual punch hole and Corning Gorilla Glass 3+.
Also, the regular version's display has a single teardrop notch.
Neither phones, however, are water-resistant.
Power and storage
While Qualcomm's Snapdragon 662 SoC fuels the OPPO F17, the gaming-centric MediaTek Helio P95 chipset powers the OPPO F17 Pro; the former is then coupled with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM tiers, with 64GB/128GB of expandable storage options.
The OPPO F17 Pro has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.
Meanwhile, both handsets are listed with 4,000mAh batteries, with support for 30W fast wired charging.
Their rear camera setups are similar, except for the Pro variant's primary camera, which features a 48-megapixel lens; the non-Pro has a 16MP primary camera. Both phones have 8MP ultrawide and two 2MP macro and depth cameras as their auxiliary sensors.
The OPPO F17 Pro's pill-shaped display cutout houses a 16MP wide and 2MP depth sensors, while the OPPO F17 has a 16MP wide front-facing shooter.
OS and other features
Both the OPPO F17 and F17 Pro run ColorOS 7.2, based on the latest Android 10 OS. They also have a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C. The base model features Bluetooth 5.0, whereas the Pro variant comes with Bluetooth 5.1.
