The OPPO A92 was already launched in Malaysia and Indonesia earlier last month. There was quite a hype surrounding the device due to its feature-packed specs and design. After its launch, there was no announcement on the smartphone finding its way to the Philippines. Just about when things seemed to be hopeless, OPPO Philippines' Facebook page posted an image of the OPPO A92 announcing its imminent launch in the country.
The image of the OPPO A92 on the Facebook post showed off the device's upper-half back panel in Stream White and Twilight Black color options. The caption reads, "Something big is coming. Get ready to #LiveAllOut with #OPPOA92. Stay tuned for more updates!" The post revealed the L-shaped quad-rear-camera setup in a rectangular module on the top-left corner of the device.
Spec-wise, aside from its surprise arrival in the Philippines, there's really nothing new to learn about the device.
As a refresher, the OPPO A92 features a 6.5-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400) LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen has a small punch-hole cutout on the top-left corner with a 16MP f/1.2 selfie shooter lurking inside.
The rear-mounted camera setup includes four sensors including a 48MP f/1.7 primary sensor, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor with 119-degree FoV, and two 2MP sensors, one for depth sensing and another for monochrome images.
Under the hood, the OPPO A92 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB default storage. The dual SIM phone has a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion. In the software department, the OPPO A92 boots Android 10 with ColorOS 7.1 laid on top.
A large 5,000mAh battery juices the phone charging at a maximum of 18W via a USB Type-C port. The smartphone features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and also wields a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.
The only question left now is when the OPPO A92 will begin retailing in the country and how much it will cost. But if we were to base its pricing on the Malaysian and Indonesian models, chances are the device could be priced at around PHP 14,000 or more. But that's just our guess.
