The OPPO A31 is now official in the Philippines. OPPO's latest mid-range smartphone has quite a few highlights under its belt. These include the triple cameras on its rear, the 20:9 display, and the processor itself. But the phone's killer feature is in its pricing, one that is also already revealed by the local arm of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer.
Accordingly, the OPPO A31 will retail in the country for only PHP 8,990. Alternatively, the phone can be availed for as low as PHP 749.17/month for a 12-month installment plan. With the announced pricing, the device sits beside the Realme 5i, the HUAWEI Y7p, and the Samsung Galaxy A20s.

The OPPO A31 packs a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels and 480 nits of typical brightness. The phone also sports a traditional waterdrop notch, one that also houses its front-facing snapper. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The handset employs a glass front but has a plastic frame and back panel.
Powering the OPPO A31 is MediaTek's Helio P35 processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users can also expand the storage via a microSD card by up to 256GB. The phone also comes with a fingerprint reader that is mounted on its rear panel. Other sensors include accelerometer, compass, and proximity.
In the optics department, the OPPO A31 boasts three cameras on its back. The triple-camera setup comprises of a 12MP main wide sensor, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The setup also supports HDR, panorama, and LED flash. Inside the phone's notch is an 8MP selfie camera.
The battery capacity of the OPPO A31 settles with a 4,230mAh that can be charged through a dated Micro USB port. The port also supports USB On-The-Go. Other pertinent features in this segment are Bluetooth 5.0, a dedicated FM radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The OPPO A31 runs on ColorOS 6.1, based on Android 9.0 Pie. There is no word yet whether the device will have a planned upgrade to the latest Android 10.0 OS. The phone retails in three color variants – Mystery Black, Fantasy White, and Lake Green.
The OPPO A31 may have a few kinks on its own such as its dated charging port and lower display resolution, but with its pricing and overall performance, there isn't any doubt that the phone will thrive in the local market for months.
