Nokia 9 PureView and Nokia 6.2 to Be Launched at the End of January?

HMD has been releasing Nokia smartphones that live up to the legacy it built during the 2000s. With the upcoming new smartphone releases, will the new Nokia devices live up to its name?

Word has it that HMD Global, the company that owns the rights to the Nokia brand, is planning to launch two new smartphones very soon, the Nokia 9 PureView and Nokia 6.2. Product launch date predictions are very tricky to predict since it could be subject to change at any given moment, but a number of rumors/leaks on Twitter have disclosed that the launch could happen any time before January ends.

Nokia 6.1 Plus

Nokia executive Juho Sarvikas, who is in charge of product development, recently tweeted that a Nokia product will make its grand entrance during the MWC 2019 event which will be held in Barcelona, Spain. In the said Tweet, Mr. Sarvikas posted a video clip of MWC 2018, particularly the portion where they launched a number of premium smartphones that included the likes of the Nokia 8110 4G, Nokia 1, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco. Adding fuel to speculation is the hashtag at the end of the Tweet: #coolnewstuff.

Since cyberspace is rife with juicy leaks about the Nokia 9 PureView and the mid-range Nokia 6.2 smartphones, it's most likely that this bit of news has some truth to it, though HMD has yet to release an official statement about this.

The rumors also mean that the R&D process for these new smartphones may have already come to an end and a final and polished product is already available. The Nokia 9 PureView smartphone is alleged to sport the Snapdragon 845 chipset which features an octa-core processor and 6GB RAM, which is more than enough to power the most demanding apps currently in the market. The internal storage will have a capacity of 128GB, but no word yet whether this will be expandable.

What makes the Nokia 9 PureView stand out is its 5-sensor rear camera setup, which one sensor more than the 4-rear sensor-equipped Samsung Galaxy A9 smartphone. Rumors say that the lens might be provided by Switzerland-based Carl Zeiss, which promises excellent image quality.

There's plenty of details that are not yet released, so Nokia fanatics are eagerly awaiting what the new smartphones have to offer, and more importantly, what the price points are. Be sure to stay tuned here for more details about Nokia and their new smartphones.
