Lenovo Announced Their Newest Slider Phone, the Z5 Pro
Lenovo has officially announced their newest sliding phone, the Z5 Pro, which packs a bigger display than most sliding phones in the market and features powerful hardware that will satisfy consumers in the mid-level market spectrum.
The China-based computing and smart device manufacturer, Lenovo, has announced that they will release a new smartphone that features a manual slider that is similar to the Honor Magic 2 and Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 smartphones. Lenovo says that the Z5 Pro is better than its two competitors because it has a more affordable price tag and has a better screen-to-body ratio.
The Lenovo Z5 Pro falls behind in computing power though, since it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 instead of the Snapdragon 845, which is what the Magic 2 and the Mi MIX 3 use, but this is due to the fact that these two phones cater to a different segment of the smartphone market.
The Z5 Pro sports a Samsung-made, 6.39-inch FHD+ resolution full-screen display panel. The screen covers more than 95 percent of the front surface.
This new phone from Lenovo comes with 6GB of RAM and two options for storage: 64 or 128GB. There is a chance that storage could be non-expandable, so be sure to take that into consideration if you're planning to buy this smartphone.
The rear-camera setup consists of two shooters with a 16-megapixel Sony main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 24-megapixel Sony secondary sensor. The slider mechanism houses another dual-camera setup for selfies that are made up of 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors, and this also has an infrared light source which can be used for facial recognition similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note9.
One of the main features of the Z5 Pro is the in-display fingerprint sensor for added biometric security measures. Android 8.1 Oreo comes installed with this phone and skinned on top with Lenovo's ZUI 10.0 OS, though there's no word whether it can be upgraded to Android 9.0 Pie once it comes out. Providing power to the phone is a 3,350mAh battery, which is powerful enough to last through an entire day with moderate usage before needing to be charged.
This new phone makes heavy use of Android's artificial intelligence features like improved battery life through optimal power settings, camera recognition, and a better gaming experience through automatic performance tweaks.
Pre-orders are now open for the Z5 Pro and will be available starting on November 10. It has a price tag of CNY 1,998 (around PHP 15,300) for the 6GB+64GB variant, and CNY 2,298 (around PHP 17,700) for the 6GB+128GB variant, and this phone will be available in one colorway only: Ceramic Black.
