Sports touring has gotten extra exciting with KYMCO's entry into the Philippines' growing maxi scooter segment, the KYMCO Xciting S 400i. The middle-weight maxi scooter's uniquely designed front fascia boasts a tall, adjustable windscreen and a sporty-looking LED headlight unit that features the first ECE-approved daytime running light (DRL) for a scooter. This front lighting system intensifies the Xciting S 400i's aggressive appearance and greatly enhances visibility both during daytime and nighttime. Likewise, the LED taillight is distinct and full of character, and it complements the big bike's long tail and contoured seat with a backrest. The adequate cushioning plus the roomy, knee-friendly stepboard that allows for a feet-forward riding position spell rider comfort. This makes the KYMCO Xciting S 400i arguably the most comfortable maxi scooter to ride on the expressway.

Xciting Performance

The smooth and noiseless, yet mighty 400.1cc 4S 4-valve liquid-cooled SOHC engine delivers an impressive maximum output of 35.53hp at 7,500rpm and peak torque of 37.7Nm at 6,000rpm. This mill is mated to a CVT that distributes power smoothly regardless of the riding conditions. It comes in the form of a smartphone app that connects to the scooter's digital display, which in turn provides the rider with visual turn-by-turn navigation cues. Clock and weather information are synced with the phone and the display's background image can be customized as well. Missed calls and messages on the rider's phone will only be displayed once the scooter comes to a full stop.

The Xciting S 400i's V-shaped handlebar provides better dashboard readability while riding. There are also a couple of power outlets to ensure uninterrupted connectivity in case the mobile phone runs out of juice. There's also a 12V car-charger-type socket and a USB port on the compartment area, which locks automatically when the scooter is locked.
