Gender equality is often among the hot topics for debate in many parts of the world. Fortunately though, this will never be an issue with Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), as its latest endeavor pays tribute to the Filipino women of today. It is undeniable that Filipinas have been playing a big part in all sectors of society. Even in the motorcycle scene, many lady riders are being recognized as influencers on social media, and many women riders are also entering the motorcycle ride-hailing and delivery businesses, among others. While many Filipinas are more than capable of riding sports-oriented bikes, many too prefer to ride an automatic scooter for its many benefits. The Honda Genio is initially designed with lady riders in mind, and to give homage to the modern Filipina riders, HPI gives the feminine scooter new colors for 2021.

This is the Japanese automobile and motorcycle maker's way of saluting the boldness of Filipino women, who showed strength, resiliency, and independence, especially during the crisis and difficulties that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought. These qualities and the capability to overcome challenges, proudly embodies the essence of the Honda Genio.
There are three exciting new colorways for the Honda Genio enthusiasts to choose from: Vintage White, Matte Gunpowder Metallic Black, and Valiant Red, with chalk art typo and line color patterns. These additional colors join the original Honda Genio paint schemes of Ross White with Red Stripes and Ross White with Blue Stripes.

According to HPI, the new Valiant Red color variant signifies the Filipina riders' confidence in keeping up with fellow riders on the road. The Vintage White hue represents the contemporary Filipinas' traits in which they are able to fulfill multiple roles in the society and able to "live life to the fullest." The Vintage White color variant's elegant and sophisticated look and eye-catching design will surely make the riders stand out among other riders on the road. The third new paint scheme, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, personifies the modern Filipinas' independence and love of fun and adventure. It symbolizes the ability of the women riders to defy limits, go out of their comfort zones, and transform into the best versions of themselves.
The Honda Genio is not just about bold and striking colors though. It is much-loved by riders, and not just by women, but also by other genders, because of the combination of its chic style and modern technology. The current iteration of the Honda Genio comes with smart technology such as an LED headlight, a digital instrument meter with ECO indicator, a secured key shutter with an automatic seat compartment opener, and a USB port for charging gadgets and smart devices.
It also boasts enhanced smart power (eSP) for its four-stroke, air-cooled, single overhead cam (SOHC) engine ensuring a decent performance and fuel efficiency. This mill spits 8.8hp of power output at 7,500rpm and peak torque of 9.3Nm at 5,500rpm.
Safety-wise, this well-loved scooter comes equipped with a combi-brake system to complement its front disc and rear mechanical drum braking system, for superior stopping power. It is also practical, with a 14L U-box or underseat compartment, plus a spacious inner rack for the rider's essentials, making it a good companion to the grocery, the office, and other places in the metro.
All color variants of the Honda Genio have a sticker price of PHP 72,900.
The scooter is in line with HPI's "ONE DREAM" campaign, the objective of which is to fulfill every Filipino's dream by means of a fun mobility.
