Honda Philippines has finally taken the wraps off its 2020 Honda ADV150 and the all-new Genio. The two new motorcycles are said to be specially developed to cater to the brand's growing demographic of female consumers and adventurers alike. And to make these two entrants more flexible to the crowd, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer also innovated them with modern style and function.
2020 Honda ADV150 Specifications
Without a doubt, the highlight of Honda's official announcement recently is the 2020 Honda ADV150. The newest entrant carries the same features and styling we've already seen on its Indonesian counterpart.
Despite its resemblance with the PCX in this segment, the 2020 Honda ADV150 still manages to stand out relative to its off-road capabilities. For instance, the vehicle sports a longer telescopic front suspension and twin Showa rear coil springs with sub tanks.
Consequently, the motorcycle now churns out a ground clearance of 165mm, which is relatively higher than most of the scooter range (130-135mm). Also, the new vehicle now comes with a raised seat height at 795mm.
The 2020 Honda ADV150 also rides on larger 100mm 14-inch tubeless tires and 13-inch tubeless tires on its front and rear respectively.
Apart from the PCX, the 2020 Honda ADV150 also borrows some cues from its larger X-ADV 750 sibling variant in terms of its exterior styling. These are most evident with its angular aspirations, plus its split LED headlights. Also, the vehicle's taillights are all LED, with the inclusion of an emergency stop signal.
Meanwhile, a new digital meter panel on the 2020 Honda ADV150 is included. It comes with just about all the necessary display and trip details, including trip meters and its average and instant fuel consumption. There's also a tapered handlebar for users to grab on to besides a highly-adjustable windscreen.
The 2020 Honda ADV150 is set to carry a price tag of PHP 149,000 when it finally goes on sale in the country on January 2020.
Aimed at the growing number of female consumers in its demographic, the all-new Genio is also Honda's new AT scooter that should delight the trendy and the stylish.
The newest Genio is also now embedded with smart technology and improved smart power. Also included are LED headlights, plus a digital meter panel all complete with ECO indicator and a secure key shutter. It also features a seat opener which boasts of decent storage – 14L U-box capacity.
Like the 2020 Honda ADV150, the new Genio is also equipped with tubeless tires. As such, users will no longer have to worry about getting flat tires in the process. Likewise, a combi-brake system is included, one that features a front disc brake and a rear mechanical drum braking system.
In terms of size, the all-new Genio reflects the average body frame of most Pinays. The vehicle is also notably lightweight and is generally easy to navigate, without needlessly compromising its users' safety and comfort throughout the ride.
Powering the Genio is a single-cylinder, fuel-injected, enhanced Smart Power (esp) engine which revs up 9.0 PS at 7,000 rpm and 9.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm. It is then mated to a V-belt CVT.
The new Genio is also budget-friendly as it only retails for PHP 72,900. It is set to become available on December 2019 at authorized Honda dealers nationwide.
Honda ADV150 Debuts In Indonesia
Honda just took the wraps off its new ADV150 scooter. Unveiled at the 2019 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, the adventure-inspired, two-wheeled wonder takes most of its design cues off the Japanese automaker's X-ADV 750 crossover scooter.
Right off the bat, the Honda ADV150 is a serious, radicalized toughened scooter. These prominent stylings can be gleaned from its split floorboards right to its overall more aggressive color choices. The all-fresh Honda ADV150 also shares the same platform with that of the current PCX150. Other similar features include the LED lights and a fully-digitalized instrument panel. Meanwhile, users are also given the option to choose Honda's combi-brake system and ABS.
The Honda ADV150 is powered by a 149.33cc single engine. Honda claims that it can rev up 14.2hp at 8,500rpm, with a peak torque of 13.8Nm at 6,500rpm. Ultimately, the engine provides an overall driving range of around 350km.
The entrant's curb weight settles at 133kg, or just over 293 pounds. In addition, its suspension comprises of conventional front forks up front and twin Showa gas-charged shock absorbers right in its rear. The vehicle's wheel sizes, on the other hand, come with a 14-inch at the front and a 13-inch in its rear.
Depending on the chosen variant, either the ABS and CBS features still would come in standard. And either way, users would still be stopping with disc brakes, both front and rear. For bikes with ABS, the ESS feature which automatically activates the hazard light when a sudden brake is used to warn the traffic around the user is also provided.
Moreover, the Honda ADV150 features Honda's Smart Key System, right alongside a large 28-liter under-seat box; the latter can be used to keep a full-face helmet and other things that a user might have. The bike is also equipped with an 8-liter capacity fuel tank.
While the Honda ADV150 is currently Indonesia-exclusive, the scooter might still probably be released in other markets soon. The ABS version of the scooter is priced at IDR 36,500,000 (around PHP 134,000) while its combi-brake variant will set buyers back at IDR 33,500,000 (around PHP 130,000).
