New HUAWEI Smartphone Arriving in the Philippines on June 12; Could Be the nova 7 SE
A new super nova smartphone, allegedly the HUAWEI nova 7 SE, is going to launch on June 12 in the Philippines. The nova 7 SE, which launched in China last month, comes with the Kirin 820 SoC, 8GB RAM, and 64MP quad-rear camera.
If the newly updated cover photo on HUAWEI Philippines' official Facebook page is to be believed, then we can surely expect an imminent launch in the country. The text on the poster reads "A super nova is coming soon" with the date June 12, 2020, written under it.
The cover photo includes the images of the upcoming phone which showcase a single punch-hole cutout on the top-left corner of the display and a vertically aligned quad-camera setup on the top-left portion of the back panel.
The design as well as the colors of the phone ties with the HUAWEI nova 7 SE which was launched last month in China.
Some speculated that it could also be the nova 7 or the nova 7 Pro but both of them are ruled out because the latter flaunts dual selfie cameras in a pill-shaped cutout while the former has an LED flash aligned inside the camera module.
As a refresher, the nova 7 SE is the first phone from HUAWEI to rock the latest Kirin 820 5G SoC which is built on 7nm architecture. The SoC pairs with a Mali-G57 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 128GB/256GB internal storage, which is expandable up to another 256GB via a shared SIM slot.
The device uses a 6.5-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080) LCD screen which also integrates a 16MP selfie shooter inside the punch-hole cutout. The rear has four cameras including a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, and another 2MP depth sensor.
The phone makes use of a 4,000mAh battery armed with 40W fast charging and 5W reverse charging technologies. The fingerprint scanner is side-mounted, meaning it is embedded into the home button. The smartphone incorporates a USB Type-C port without axing the usual 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a good thing. There will be no Google Play Services for sure, however.
It is not yet clear if the nova 7 SE arriving in the country is 5G-equipped as a 4G version of the nova 7 SE has recently appeared on the database of Singapore IMDA for certification.
Redgarding its pricing, the HUAWEI nova 7 SE starts at CNY 2,400 which is around PHP 17,000. And if the 4G-only version launches, we can expect a further cut in the pricing.
There is still a lot to uncover regarding the alleged nova 7 SE arriving in the Philippines. We are hoping to hear more about the device's specs and pricing in the coming days. Worst case scenario, we'll have to wait until the launch date until everything is unveiled.
