The Google Pixel 5's launch date is now set in stone.
In an invite sent to press this week, Google has revealed that it would be announcing the Pixel 5 on September 30. Alongside the company's next-generation Pixel smartphone, the search giant also hinted at the unveiling of the Pixel 4a 5G, a new Chromecast, and possibly a refreshed Nest speaker.
Easily the most anticipated release in the bunch is the Pixel 5. The phone, which popped up in the rumor mill several times, is bringing a lot of competitive features to the table.

Accordingly, the Google Pixel 5 will be arriving with a high 90Hz refresh rate. Though its panel isn't confirmed yet, it is likely to launch with an OLED variety.
The Pixel 5 is also tipped to sport a plastic rear, akin to the Pixel 4a's. A physical fingerprint scanner is also listed among its rumored features.
Under the hood, it's been heavily rumored that the phone would feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765G chipset. If this pans out, the next Pixel phone would be the first entry off Google's flagship namesake to introduce a mid-range smartphone.
The handset is also pegged to pack 8GB of RAM and a 4,000mAh battery. The phone won't be featuring a 3.5mm headphone jack, though.
On the optics front, the Pixel 5 may come with a 12.2-megapixel primary camera, purportedly the Sony IMX363 sensor, and a 16MP wide-angle lens. An 8MP Sony IMX355 front-facing sensor is likewise in the mix.

Meanwhile, the 5G variant of the Pixel 4a could be coming with an OLED panel as well, the same display the vanilla Pixel 4a has arrived with. However, it is tipped that the phone will only be toting around a conventional 60Hz refresh rate.
On its rear, the Pixel 4a 5G could feature a dual-camera setup, headlined by a 12.2MP Sony IMX363 sensor and a 16MP wide-angle lens. An 8MP selfie snapper could also debut with the phone.
The same Snapdragon 765G chip could power the device, with 6GB of RAM and a 3,800mAh battery. The phone might also arrive with a mounted fingerprint scanner on its rear and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Google is also expected to announce an Android TV Dongle dubbed as the Google Chromecast with Google TV, with a price tag of USD 49.99 (around PHP 2,400). As for the rumored smart speaker, the device could be launched as the larger version of the Nest Mini.
