Apple has recently seen its share prices drop 12 percent during the last quarter of 2018, but that hasn't stopped the Cupertino, California-based firm from developing new smartphones that are due to come out this year and will succeed the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR smartphones. A number of validated leaks have been making its way on the internet and it looks like the 2019 iPhone flagship will have a triple-rear-camera setup, taking a page out of the playbook of its Android rivals.
The leaked images of the 2019 iPhone flagship show that the rear-triple-camera setup sits on a square-shaped housing and is accompanied by an LED flash, and a closer look at the renders reveal that the cameras are not linearly aligned like the normal smartphone camera, giving it a fresh look. An external microphone is located underneath the camera and LED flash setup, making this an ideal phone for mobile filmmakers.
Sources say that the 2019 iPhone is still under the Engineering Validation Test (EVT) phase of development and there are still changes to be made. Considering the projected launch date of the 2019 iPhone being around the third quarter this year, there is still a long way to go. The same sources also say that Apple is eyeing a lineup of three smartphones and could consist of a low-budget option and two big-ticket options. Since it's so early into development, it's not immediately clear which variant will sport the three-camera setup, but observers say that it could be a premium feature on the higher-end iPhones, which could very well be the case.
An earlier new report states that Apple will incorporate 3D technology into their cameras and will be supported by the three-camera setup. Considering that the 3D picture technology has been received quite well by the social media community, Apple has made a good decision in this direction.
Reports also state that other than the new camera setup, the iPhone will not have any major aesthetic redesign, though it is expected to use the front notch design for this year's model.
Whether the new camera setup will have any effect whatsoever on Apple's current situation will remain to be seen. Be sure to stay tuned here as we will provide you with more information about the new iPhone as soon as it becomes available.
