New MacBook Pro 16-inch Now Official With PH Pricing

Apple's new MacBook Pro also comes with 9th-generation Intel CPUs, AMD GPUs, and is pricier than ever.

Apple has just unwrapped a new MacBook Pro variant. And by the looks of it, this model is sure to make heads turn and empty some pockets. Dubbed as the world's best pro notebook, the new MacBook Pro 16 inch (Late 2019) variant is a 16-inch model that is primarily intended for developers, photographers, filmmakers, and virtually anyone in the world who relies on a Mac to do their life's best output.

The new MacBook Pro comes with Retina Display, the latest 9th-gen Intel Core i5/Core i7 paired with 16GB of RAM. It is also equipped with AMD's Radeon Pro with up to 4GB of GDDR6, alongside a new advanced thermal design. The latter banks on a design which features a larger impeller with extended blades, plus bigger vents – resulting in a 28% increase in airflow. This enables its system to run at higher power for prolonged periods.

At the heart of the recently-minted 16-inch model MacBook Pro is its new Magic Keyboard, a deemed replacement to its butterfly keyboard, which had polarized the lineup for years. Apple has long been subjected to complaints about broken and sticky keys emanating from its butterfly keyboards. A butterfly keyboard uses a design with a mechanism under its keys, which expands like wings, making it vulnerable to dust and other debris. At some point, some reviewers have called it Apple's worst invention of all time. For the first time in four years, however, the new keyboard of the refreshed MacBook Pro now comes with a redesigned scissor mechanism and 1mm travel. Apple claims that these features should readily provide its users with a more satisfying key feel and the best typing experience ever from the iconic series.

Meanwhile, the new MacBook Pro also comes with Touch Bar, Touch ID, Force Touch trackpad, an Apple T2 Security Chip, and a longer battery life. The new variant also introduces a redesigned six-speaker, high-fidelity sound system, which is engineered to produce the most superior audio experience from a notebook.

According to Apple's official website in the Philippines, the new MacBook Pro will come in two color variants – Space Gray and Silver, under two variants of the 16-inch model to choose from. The 9th-gen Intel Core i7 + 512GB SSD model will carry a price tag of PHP 141,990. While the 9th-gen Intel Core i9 + 1TB SSD model will go for PHP 165,990.
