I am planning on buying this for my birthday. I'm second guessing because there are lots of bad reviews on Polaroid because of its battery problems. Is this true? If so, what can be the possible solution?

Na change ko yung settings dito na download ko yung GO launcher apps, tapos nagyon marami na tulou nagpapop up na ibang apps na hindi ko namn kailanagan, paano bato mabalik sa dati? yung simple lang..

When you hear the term "instant camera", only one name comes into mind, Polaroid. Since 1948, this US-based company was the top manufacturer of instant film cameras and it continued doing so until today. Polaroid has joined the digital camera revolution with its own line of innovative and unique products.
Founded in 1937, Polaroid Corporation originally focused on polarized sunglasses as its founder, Edwin Land, was interested in the science of polarization. His daughter actually inspired his decision to go into instant photography when she asked why a camera was not capable of producing pictures right after the image was captured.
By the 1950s, over a million packs of film were sold and at the same time, the company debuted its colored film. Sales of Polaroid cameras exceeded 6 million units by 1976. With the industry moving towards digitalization, the company starts selling its first digital camera, PDC 2000 in 1996.
For 75 years, the company changed the instant photography landscape with the introduction of various instant cameras. Among the most iconic of these products are:
- Polaroid SX 70 – released in 1972, it was the first automatic single lens reflex camera
- Polaroid Sun 600 Camera – released in 1983 and featured 116mm single element plastic lens, fixed focus with a minimal focal length of 4 feet, built in electronic flash and electronic shutter
- Polaroid Z340 instant Digital Camera – released in 2011 and possesses both old and new technology. It is a fully functional digital camera with integrated printer
The company also had its fair share of controversies. It was locked in a patent battle with Kodak where Polaroid one, forcing Kodak to leave the instant camera business in 1986. It announced its decision to discontinue production of film in 2008 but decided to bring it back one year later.
Popularity in the Philippines
The Polaroid instant camera was not as popular as its competitor Kodak in the country before the age of the digital cameras. But today, the brand is rapidly gaining popularity especially among the young market with its diverse collection of products.
For starters, there are the instant cameras which are certainly back. The cameras might feel a little bulky for Filipinos but the fact that the actual photos are readily available makes them worth it. The Polaroid cameras are available in analogue and digital versions. The company even decided to release the Polaroid Sun 660 which boast of the iconic design.
Polaroid has also produced several digital still camera and digital video cameras, sports & action video cameras, IP security cameras. Its latest model is the Polaroid 16MP 32x High Optical Zoom Digital Camera with 2.7 inch full touch LCD screen display. Product prices range from $69.99 to $179.99. The company is also the first one to introduce portable photo printers in the country and one of the more popular product is the Polaroid instant Mobile Printed GL10 with ZINK ZeroInk printing technology that allows anyone to print from their smartphone, computer or digital camera.
Polaroid tablets were also launched in the Philippines in July 2013 with a popular local actress, Angelica Panganiban as one of its endorsers. Its Extra Slim Pearl tablet features quad core 1.5GHz processor, 7-inch capacitive touchscreen and Android 4.0 operating system with expandable micro SD card slot and 4GB internal memory.

During the 2014 Consumer Electronics Summit, Polaroid unveiled a cute 35-mm cube camera called the C3. The said camera boasts of 120-degree wide angle lens and is capable of capturing images up to 5 megapixels and video in 1280 x 720 and 640x580 resolutions. It can even capture underwater and outdoor moments especially since it is waterproof up to 2 meters. The camera is expected to be sold starting summer at a reasonable price tag of $99. Lots of Filipinos are sure to welcome this camera with open arms.
