Yamaha – Japanese Motorcycles upholds Filipino Automotive Standards

Yamaha Corporation or more commonly known as Yamaha is a multinational conglomerate based in Japan that specializes in the manufacturing & distribution of a wide variety of products & services. It was first established on 12th October 1887 and has its headquarters in Hamashitsu, Shizuoka Prefecture in Chubu, Japan. Historical Foundation

Yamaha was founded in 1887 as Nippon Gakki Company Ltd by famous reed organ & piano manufacturer Torasaku Yamaha. It initially had its headquarters in Hamamatsu and started making manufacturing motorcycles post World War II. Yamaha Motor Corporation was founded on 1st July 1955 under the active leadership of company President Genichi Kawakami after its separation from parent company Yamaha Corporation. It made its debuted its first motorcycle model - YA-1 in 1955 which emerged victorious at the 3rd Mt. Fuji Ascent Race held the same year.

Product specifications

Yamaha Jupiter has an air cooled, SOHC, 4 stroke, 2 valve engine that has a total power output of 7.4kW; it has a 4.1L fuel tank capacity and has an electric starter along with a kick start mechanism. It has been provided with a single disc or drum brake in combination with a 4 speed constant mesh power transmission system. Yamaha FZ has a similar engine configuration with a total power output of 10.1kW and features an electric start mechanism. It has a 5 speed return type power transmission system in combination with a hydraulic single drum or disc brake.
