For sure, the Mobile World Congress trade show, which runs from February 26 to March 1, will offer a slew of devices to choose from, if you happen to be seeking to upgrade your phone. Sony will contribute at least three options by launching its much-anticipated Xperia XZ Pro, Xperia XZ2, and Xperia XZ2 Compact on its press conference scheduled on February 26. While we almost know everything about the Xperia XZ Pro, it's time for the other two to receive the same treatment. Thanks to a previous leak, we now know the phones' key specs as well as their pricing information.
As per the report, the Xperia XZ2 will come packed with a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, an aspect ratio of 18:9, with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Powering the handset is said to be a Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of built-in memory storage. It will run on Android 8.0 Oreo and no 3.5 mm headphone jack availability. The Xperia XZ2 is expected to cost EUR 799 (about PHP 51,000).
The Xperia XZ2 Compact, on the other hand, is tipped to arrive with a 5-inch screen with a full HD+ resolution and a tall 18:9 aspect ratio. Just like its bigger sibling, it will also ship with Snapdragon 845 SoC, 4 GB RAM, Android 8.0 Oreo, and no 3.5 mm audio jack. The Xperia XZ2 Compact is said to cost at EUR 599 (about PHP 38,000).
After launching the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact, both devices are bound to wait for a week more before they can start hitting the market shelves on March 6.
Sadly, we have yet to hear about both the devices battery capacity. Given that we're days away from its launching, we might as well keep calm and wait for Sony itself to introduce to us the devices.
