The Nokia X6, which was previously called as Nokia X, has been in the rounds lately. At first, it was rumored that the Nokia-branded smartphone was bound to arrive last April 27 but it turned out to be the start of a 6-day press conference of the Finnish tech company in China to promote its entire smartphone lineup for 2018. The Nokia X6 will instead have its own launch event on May 16 to be held in Sanlitun, Beijing. While we already had a glimpse of the phone last week thanks to some leaked hands-on images, we are still thirsting for more.
Here to satisfy us is the promotional poster from the retailer Suning, which held a photo contest with 10 units of the new Nokia handset offered as a reward. Aside from the mechanics of the contest, the poster also revealed that the top three entries will get some money in addition to the Nokia X6 prize. There's also an image of the phone's front and back, reaffirming the details we saw on the previous leaks. The Nokia X6 features a glass rear panel and an aluminum frame, having a circular fingerprint scanner and a dual-camera setup. Going to the front, we can see a 19:9 display with an iPhone X-like notch on the top and the Nokia logo on the chin.
Meanwhile, HMD Global also joins the leaking game and released a teaser for the Nokia X6 which reveals more details about the May 16 launch event as well as some of its features. The poster shows the venue of the event at the background and cartoon images on the front. Fans were able to decipher the vague hints left by the company. Considering that the graphics are from the games Fortnite: Battle Royal and PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds, it seems to show that the Nokia X6 will arrive with either more gaming features or just software enhancements.
The Nokia X6 sports a 5.8-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2280pixels. It will be offered in two variants: one with a Snapdragon 636 processor and 6GB of RAM and the other with Helio P60 chipset and 4GB of RAM. The MediaTek-powered model will be priced as CNY1599 (around PHP13,000) whereas the Snapdragon-toting version will set you back at CNY1799 (around PHP15,000). As of now, the phone is expected to be Suning-exclusive but we hope to see it get unveiled globally.
