Leaked image of the upcoming bezel-less Sharp phone emerges

Sharp's upcoming bezel-less smartphone offering, with model numbers FS8010 and FS8016, will launch three days from now. One of the devices leaks in a teaser image showing a close resemblance to the Essential Phone.

Roughly a month ago, Japanese electronics company Sharp was resported to be working on not just one, but two bezel-less smartphones. Now, the phones up in the tech firm's pipeline and will launch on an event set to take place this July 17th. Before the grand launching could happen, one of those smartphones has its image leaked on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo, giving us our first look at the upcoming device. Interesting enough, the image seems to get its inspiration from the Essential PH-1 handset teaser shared by the Android co-founder Andy Rubin. For the sake of those who are unfamiliar, the Essential Phone's teaser image shows a hand holding the handset, revealing only the top right corner of the screen. With that, we can only have a sneak peek of the smartphone.

Going to the leaked photos, the Sharp device sports an edge-to-edge display as expected. The phone's frame is white in color, giving us an idea regarding what color variant it might offer. Although our view is somewhat limited, we can still see the volume rocker situated on the right edge and the cutout of the front-facing camera in the middle of the display. According to the source of the leaked image, we might see the fingerprint scanner on the back panel instead of in the front part. Overall, we can say that the new offering from Sharp has a close resemblance with Andy Rubin's Essential Phone.

As of now, we don't know what names that the smartphones will carry but we already have their model numbers which are FS8010 and FS8016. The two devices will sport a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1080 pixels. Both pack either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory storage, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS on board. They will feature dual 12-megapixels rear snappers and an 8-megapixels selfie shooter up front. The only difference is the chips they will use: The FS8016 will come with Snapdragon 660 chip whereas the FS8010 will ship having Snapdragon 630 processor under the hood. We will not wait for too long because the unveiling will take place just three days from now!
