Chinese phone manufacturer Gionee recently dropped hints regarding a release of a new mid-range smartphone- the "lite" version of the Gionee F5. The device's existence is now confirmed when a Gionee-branded smartphone, dubbed as F5L, was recently spotted at the China's TENAA. Aside from the revelation of the device's name, it also unveiled the key specs and features of the upcoming Gionee phone.
According to the listing, the Gionee F5L sports a 5.3-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which results in a pixel density of 277ppi. It is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. Though there is no specific brand of processor mentioned, some reports tell about the possibility of the device to have a MediaTek mid-range processor to fill in the gap. Regarding its memory configuration, the phone will come with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal memory storage. In its photography department, it will sport a 13-megapixel rear snapper and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with Amigo UI on top. The device's overall fuel, which is also the phone's selling point, is said to be a whopping 4000mAh non-removable battery.
Going to the F5L's external design, it is quite similar to other smartphones and it is built out of metal. It has a loudspeaker at the rear side of the phone and has the power/lock and volume keys placed at the right part. Its physical home button is located below the display and comes with two capacitive keys on the sides. The F5L has a body dimension of 150 x 74.5 x 7.7mm weighing at 162 grams.
Upon its release, it will be available in two color variants: White and Gold. The TENAA listing did not reveal any further details including the release date, pricing, and availability of the device. Chances are, the Gionee F5L will be launched at the Mobile World Congress.
