About Gionee Mobile Phones
Gionee offers new marketing strategy for Philippines
Gionee is not a very old telecommunications organization. It does not have a huge history related to the Filipino market, nor does it have a pre-established reputation. Still, what makes its different from other contemporary brands, are its products. The complete name of this company is Gionee Communication Equipment Co. Ltd. and it based out of Shenzhen, in Guangdong province in China. Being a Chinese brand for cell phones and smart phones, Gionee has developed in an extremely competitive market. So, it has flourished in an environment of competition, and it will be effective in Philippines as well.
Gionee was first founded in 2002, and since then, it has been the largest smart phone manufacturer in China. It rapidly gained popularity in the next one year, and by the end of 2003, it had already ventured its products in to Philippines, and other adjacent countries, such as Taiwan, Myanmar, Thailand as well as Vietnam. Gionee ascend in to popularity in the densely crowded Asian telecommunications industry was very sudden. Soon, it gained popularity in India, another big Asian market. In Philippines, Gionee has entered the smart phone market with their brand, Pioneer. Soon, they released brand new models from the Pioneer series of smart phones, and then moved on to other series brands, such as CTRL, GPad, as well as Elife.
Reason for Popularity
Even though Gionee is not a very old smart phone brand in Philippines, it has gained a huge popularity in the last few years alone. Why is that? This is primarily due to the fact that Gionee’s marketing strategy for Philippines and other potential South Asian markets have been excellent. Two clear fold points in their strategy appeals to the people.
First of all, Gionee provides variation to the people. Even though they started off with just a single series of smart phones, they eventually released their full arsenal with multiple brands and series. This provided the consumer with varied choices to choose from within the same smart phone company itself. Secondly, Gionee caters to the requirements of the people in a very special way. They have their low end budget smart phones, starting off with the Pioneer series. They also have their Elife series of smart phones, which obviously belong in the high end range of smart phones.
Gionee has primarily 4 major series of smart phones to choose from. They are Pioneer, Elife, GPad and CTRL. So let’s check out their popular models in each series.
