ASUSTeK Computer Incorporated branched out to produce peripherals and other devices much later than the time when they made computer components. The Eee PC base model was released in Taiwan on 16 October, 2007 and was followed by three additional models, all of which eventually branched out to different parts of the world including Philippines. The Asus Eee PC lineup came with 4 models that received software upgrades from time to time. It began in 2007 and lasted till January 2013, when Asus finally decided to halt production of their Notebook lineup. The model names according to their time of release are states as follows:
- Asus Eee 700: 4 GB SSD, PCI Express Mini Card, Microsoft Windows XP OS.
- Asus Eee 900: 8 GB/ 16 GB SSD, both Microsoft Windows and Linux versions were available.
- Asus Eee 1000: 10 inch screen, 1.6 GHz Intel Atom CPU, 32 GB SSD, Windows XP home or Linux.
- Asus Eee 2015c: Last line of Eee series that cane with 1 GB RAMS and standard USB2 ports. Rest was same as before.
Recent news in the Philippines
Not much long after Asus Eee PC lineup was pulled off from the market, the company decided to revive the series once again with the launch of Eee 1015 series in the year 2015. Much to the surprise of many people in Philippines, this news comes as a welcome change to those who are loyal to the brand or just simply prefer the feel of using Asus’ notebook range.
