CASIO has certainly revolutionized the digital camera industry in Philippines. It has provided various new technologies for the improvement of this industry, and this has certainly led to better sales statistics in the last couple of years alone. The Casio Computer Company, Limited is basically a multi-national company who has its origins in Tokyo, Japan. It produces multiple electronic products, starting from calculators, watches, musical instrument, all the way up to mobile phones and cameras. CASIO holds the record of coming up with the world’s first electric compact calculator that can easily fit in your pockets.
CASIO was first founded way back in 1946. However, it was not until 1957 that it became popular in the world’s electronic market. Tadao Kashio, an engineer in fabric technology, was the founder of CASIO. It invented its first electric calculator in 1949, but it was big and had to be operated using levers or a motor. Finally, in 1957, CASIO made a huge breakthrough with computing technology, and devised its first compact calculator that could easily fit in the palm of your hands. Soon, CASIO started producing more products for the consumers, starting with digital watches, electronic guitars as well as graphic cameras. CASIO released the world’s first digital camera in 1995 – it was named as QV-10. Soon after that, CASIO started expanding to South Asian markets – in to Philippines and India. In 2002, CASIO introduced its first Exilim digicam to Philippines – it was named as EX-S1.
CASIO has continued to release new and latest models for their customers. Their high speed digital camera brand is very popular in Philippines. CASIO has also come up with a new line of cameras – they are called "Lifestyle". The cameras are more stylish and fancier than the rest.
