Vivo Xplay7 with alleged under-screen fingerprint scanner leaks in images from presentation slides
The Chinese phone maker Vivo is said to be in collaboration with Qualcomm to offer an under-screen fingerprint scanner technology set to debut on the Vivo Xplay7 phone. The device is expected to arrive next year, maybe in April or May.
This year, we had enough of the disappointments brought by unfulfilled promises of phone manufacturers. All of us might have hoped to see Samsung's and Apple's flagship smartphones for 2017 sport a fingerprint scanner embedded under the display. As you can see, none of them offered the most-requested feature. However, it now seems like there's a ray of hope brought to us by the Chinese tech firm Vivo. The China-based company, together with Qualcomm, is said to be working on an under-screen fingerprint scanner with the upcoming Vivo Xplay7 as the first one to arrive having the technology.
Recently, an image showing a presentation slide regarding the Vivo Xplay7 surfaced on the microblogging website Weibo. The photographs revealed all the details as well as the perceived design of the phone. We can see that there are no bezels on all sides, enabling a 100 percent screen-to-body ratio. Even the front-facing camera and some necessary sensors went under the display. Regarding the specs, the Vivo Xplay7 is said to have the upcoming Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 8 GB of RAM under the hood. The internal memory storage will be either 128 GB or 256 GB. The handset will allegedly feature a Sony IMX401 sensor which offers a 4X optical zoom, another first in the smartphone history.
Now, the question is, "When will the Vivo Xplay7 arrive?" Reports state that the device will debut next year. However, there's still no exact date as to when it will happen. But considering that the Xplay7 will have the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 845 chip on board, it might come after the first quarter of 2018, maybe in April or May. Do you think that the upcoming Vivo Xplay7 will be worth the wait?
