Suzuki is back! Get ready for the new GSX-R1000 L7
Suzuki is finally ready to take its title back in the motorcycle scene with its lightest, most powerful, hardest accelerating, cleanest-running GSX-R ever built, the Suzuki GSX-R1000 Concept showcased at the 2015 EICMA show.
Nov 19, 2015
It was finally time for Suzuki to release a newer GSX-R, the current GSX-R (K5) is outdated and cannot be compared with today’s models in particular the Yamaha R1, BMW S 1000RR, Aprilia RSV4 and the Kawasaki ZX-10R.
Suzuki, for more than a decade of success with a top level of development technologies is now ready to earn its title back with its latest concept the GSX-R1000 L7. The GXR-R1000 is Suzuki’s most successful road legal racing bike ever built, despite possessing the same DNA of MotoGP bikes the GSX-R1000 has a profound throttle response at any given engine speeds while maintaining great fuel economy.
The new Suzuki GSX-R1000 L7 marks the company’s return in the MotoGP racing and promises to own the racetrack with its superior engine response from 0 to redline, adaptive suspension, active handling, outstanding brakes and more.
Suzuki GSX-R1000 L7 Highlights
- All-new 999cc engine (mechanical variable valve timing system)
- 200bhp - 82ftlb -200kg (est)
- All-new aluminium chassis
- Showa BFF fork and BFRC shock
- 10 different levels of traction control
- Launch Control
The soon to be 6th generation GSX-R1000 will be the highest spec’d GSX-R ever built, aside from being the lightest and most powerful GSX-R1000 thanks to an all new chassis and engine, multi-mode traction control, ABS, ride-by-wire throttle and bi-directional quickshifter, the new GSX-R1000 will also feature a mechanical variable valve timing system where the motorcycle will be accurate enough it won’t need to rely on any electronic units such as the IMU (Internal Measuring Unit).
On the motorcycles aesthetics, the new GSX-R1000 looks more compact than the outgoing model, Suzuki also claims that it’s now more aerodynamic and lighter than ever.
Contributing to the lightness of its weight is the implementation of full LED lightings. From its headlights-indicators to the new all-new LED information display.
Suzuki is devoted in making the new GSX-R more affordable than any of its competitors. There are no confirmations yet about its pricing and launch date. But motorcycle analyst says to expect the new GSX-R1000 to come out in 2nd quarter of 2016. There are also words going around that the upcoming GSX-R1000 will be available in two models, the other one being a lower spec version.
Can Suzuki live up to its claims of taking back its title in the market and in the racing world with the all-new most powerful, most lightest, most aggressive GSX-R1000 L7? One thing’s for sure, its one motorcycle to look out for in 2016.
