Samsung Galaxy Note9 might be smaller and thicker than the Galaxy Note8
As per a reliable leaker, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note9 will be 2mm shorter than its predecessor, the Galaxy Note8. If ever the device comes with a larger battery pack, it is expected to come out chubbier than usual.
Samsung's next big thing after the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ is the upcoming Galaxy Note9 which is expected to arrive a few months from now. While there's still a lot of time left before the much-awaited launch event, leaks have been starting to pile up as tipsters tried to put their two cents in. For instance, the well-known leaker @UniverseIce who has a good track record when it comes to Samsung leaks took it to Twitter to reveal that the Galaxy Note9 will be a near facsimile of its predecessor, last year's Galaxy Note8.
According to the tweet, the only difference the two phones will sport is their display sizes as the new Galaxy Note9 is said to be 2mm shorter than the Galaxy Note8. No doubt, the size difference is almost impossible to notice unless you compare the smartphones side-by-side. While the South Korean manufacturer might have chopped off a little bit from the Galaxy Note9's height, it will probably retain its width which is narrow enough for a one-handed usage. Reducing the top and bottom bezels to 160mm may or may not be an important factor when it comes to gripping or handling.
On a separate but connected report, the Galaxy Note9 is rumored to be equipped with a larger-than-usual battery pack. It is said to have a massive 4000mAh cell on board to keep the lights on, whereas the previous Galaxy Note8 only has a 3300mAh battery. That's quite a big jump in the battery capacity which might also ask for a larger space in the handset. If that's the case, we will probably get a shorter but chubbier Galaxy Note9 in August. What do you think about it?
