Samsung Galaxy Note9 case leak shows off new fingerprint scanner position and a mysterious button
Samsung is about to drop the Galaxy Note9 on August 9. Roughly two months prior to the announcement, the upcoming device's alleged protective case leaks, showing off a new fingerprint reader position as well as a mysterious key.
The highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note9 is expected to arrive on August 9. Considering that we are roughly two months away from the launch of Samsung's next big thing, rumors and leaks have been pouring in great quantities lately. For instance, we recently came across the tempered glass screen protector allegedly destined for the upcoming device. A fresh new leak showing off a purported Galaxy Note9 phone case has surfaced in the rumor space thanks to the well-known leaker bearing the moniker Ice Universe. The newly-published images flaunt a simple TPU transparent protective case, which reveals the phone's design language.
Unlike its predecessor, the fingerprint reader is now placed under the horizontally-aligned dual-camera setup of the Galaxy Note9. At a first glance, it does not seem to be the best solution in terms of aesthetics but it is more ergonomic compared to its previous position in the last year's Samsung Galaxy Note8. Interestingly, the relocation of the fingerprint scanner doesn't have any bearing on the overall size of the camera module, which makes us think what Samsung is doing with the extra room. One speculation is that the camera sensors and the LED flash have spaced out more.
Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy Note9 will have a Bixby key on its right side, whereas the power button and the volume rocker sit on its left side just like the Galaxy Note8. However, there's a quite mysterious key at the bottom left edge of the device. We suppose it will be a dedicated camera shutter key. Still, we advise you to take this with a pinch of salt as there is no confirmation yet from the company. Expect more leaks coming out in the weeks to come.
